Alright, democracy has spoken. Y’all are cry baby af. Ill change the rules to: - The boss monster must be summoned once for you to win the game. This rules will be implemented after episode 3. Watch when you guys see next week when Rhyme actually follows the rules, it’ll be way more enjoyable to watch. I really wanna see y’all talk your smack on Rhyme when he abuses this rules in Ep 2-3. I think we should modify the rule that you have to win with the boss monster on the field. I think it should be changed to you can’t win until after you’ve summoned the boss monster. Sam’s stalling dried up the fun of the duel. ESPECIALLY Since He Could’ve played the boss monster 10 turns before he finally played it!

The boss monster rule completely skewed it in Sam’s favor. His boss gets stronger for every dragon in your graveyard. Since both had to stall, red eyes became an unstoppable beast. Gilford has no similar drag out benefits.

To be fair the structure decks only came with one copy of the boss monster😂 so I’m siding with rhyme on this one

This challenge is less "which deck is better" and more "which deck has the more consistently summonable boss monster"

New rule. You cannot win unless you summon your boss monster once. This would free that Duelist to still win

I found it entertaining but the stalling and bricking with zero luck getting your boss card or other cards to help bring it to the field do take the fun out of it. I think a nice modification for these win condition rules is that you can win via your boss monster being on the field (doesn't have to deal the killing blow), OR via a special/unique condition that is unique to each deck and this special condition is fitting the theme of the deck. For example the warriors deck has a lot of equip spells, so their special condition is they need to play 2-3 equip spells on the field to win as an alternative win condition to the boss monster being on the field. Fire themed deck would have a condition like do "X" amount of burn damage (even if it doesn't kill but it met the "X" amount then you can proceed to play normally for the win). And so on and so forth. I think something like that would freshen this series much better and it'll be more entertaining than stalling with one win condition and it gives you the chance to still win even if your boss monster has been destroyed already (trap holes, lighting vortex etc).

I think you should just have to summon the boss whether its destroyed or removed after doesnt matter. Most of the time i imagine the boss wont be out until late anyways so most of the time its going to be involved in the finish whether it actually attacks or not

If you don't mind it being somewhat asymmetric, maybe alongside just having the boss monster be summoned once in the duel at all to push for win, each structure deck could have a flavor victory clear condition. One for each deck that would REASONABLY happen in a typical game. Like 5 spell counters earned for Spellcasters, 2500 burn damage for Fire, and so on. Not intended as a long goal, just a small hurdle to clear for the win while still in theme for each deck.

You waited 40 turns just to summon red eyes darkness dragon, JUST to kill him with burn damage of all things, and if you lose the ability to summon your boss monster at all, you just lose

That second game was bullshit, Sam implied that you have to kill with the boss monster just to win with burn. Stalling just to otk because you have a burn card beats the purpose of the challenge, if anything, burn cards should be banned and give the win of the second game to Rhym.

You should battle with in-game structure decks.

How about you have to play the boss, and if you draw it you can’t just not summon it, that way you’re incentivised to play the strategy the boss facilitates but you can’t endlessly stall

I got excited at first when I heard you had to have the boss monster on the field, but seeing the boring stalling Sam did was so laaaame. easy fix, make it a rule that you have to summon it as soon as possible, even if it is disadvantageous to you, or it's effect won't go off. then you can drop the "you have to win with it on the field" rule and just change it to you have to summon it once per duel.

I stopped watching the moment Sam sandbagged for turns straight up lying that he couldnt summon his boss. This challenge is a cool idea but terrible in practice watching 2 players be forced to do nothing for several turns, lie about being able to do nothing and then having to luck into a boss monster. Literally every match could just be wall up with removal knowing the enemy cant kill you until you 1 turn drop your boss and find away to burn them.

Does Sam hate his viewers? Bro, abusing the rule and just not playing at all untill you can otk is not entertaining. Now that the salt is outta the way, heres an idea: Keep the core, the rule. BUT actually build a deck around it. These structure decks are ass at it, always have been; i remember the dissapointment when i bought em as a kid. So imo, it would be a more interesting challenge to modernize and "make Boss X win". Id say also stay in the archtype, no other bosses (non of that zeus etc) and no direct counters (fe dragon jar) as yall know the matchup. Basically get searchers, special summons and arch-spezific combos. Or at least add some support. I get the structure deck - skill issue idea, but all of these rly are just "do nothing till you draw combo to summon it", which gets old verry fast.
