Red flags, women shooting shots & other love stories 

I think beyond Christian brothers being ‘slow’, one reason more women are embracing the idea of shooting their shots is that they're tired of having men they don't like moving to them, while men they like are not doing that. So it's like men have the chance to look around and go after their exact choice, but women have to settle for whoever comes to them. While I understand the thought process, something I've learned and I hold as a mantra is that men know what they want, and they know how to go after what they want. Now, I don’t think shooting shots equals asking a man to be your boyfriend or even saying you like him verbatim. It might be a lady initiating a conversation, paying a compliment, asking to be friends, etc. Something that puts you in his face basically. However, when you see yourself carrying the entire emotional burden, remove yourself from that with speed. Again, men know what they want, so if he hasn’t picked up on chasing after you’ve even done stage 1, please free. As believers, we hold fast to what the Word says about the man being the head of the home and leading the home. Let him lead you two into the relationship. My preferred opinion is this: If you really want that man, position yourself strategically, show all the shades of green light you have, pray for his eyes to be open (we’ve established that these Christian men can be somehow 😂). If he doesn't catch the memo or make a move, please move on. Also, while positioning, if you’re aiming at a man of value, try to be a woman of value. If not, even if your green light is greener than green pastures, he’ll not look your way. If you choose to shoot your shot and it works for you, that's great. Congratulations! However, I don’t think advise women to do so. Not anymore. 🤭

I am a full grown man & I can boldly say that any man who will disrespect a lady will outrightly do so, regardless of whether she shoot the 1st shot or not.. I think women also need to do surveys, asking men how they feel about this subject, you'd be shocked at the result 😊... Scripture says "He who Finds"a wife, not who chases after or scouts for a wife. finding can also be likened to a discovery process! so there's absolutely nothing wrong in positioning yourself through respectful, intelligent interactions to be found as a lady..

I understand when people say ‘some men are slow’ and I get where it’s coming from. However I believe much more than focusing on when and how the guy or your SPEC will come, you should see the importance on focusing on yourself. I think it’s unfair to have a list and expectations of your ‘SPEC’ and not give yourself to the same scrutiny. I talk more about this on a video ‘Are you your spec’s spec’ on my RU-vid channel. I agree with Oyin. Positioning yourself is a form of shot shooting. Shot shooting could be direct or indirect. The height of it could now depend on whether it's direct or indirect.

I personally feel like women should only shoot their shot if they have a healthy, very healthy self-esteem and can bounce back from rejection. If you are a woman who has struggled or still struggles with rejection and abandonment, especially in a romantic relationship. It is wise to follow the traditional order of things which is the man seeing you and pursuing you. You need that assurance. You want to be sure this man loves you, wants you, and proves it through his actions. Obviously, be friendly and all but just let the man pursue you because you need that assurance.

I believe that positioning(indirect) and direct speaking are all under the umbrella of shooting shots. The amount of time and tact it takes to position yourself is almost more than just making a direct move so yeah.. all na shot shooting 👍🏽

I've had pretty bad experiences with this whole 'shooting your shot' thing as a lady. I think if the guy has seen you and you know he has seen you, but he's still not moving to you, even though you like him, you should take that as a sign that he does not like you, not that he's blind or he's just slacking.(Or give him some time). We all know what we want. If its not you, its not you. In Oyinda's case, her husband came to like her, so he took over the whole chasing affair. That's not a lady's job.

Maybe maturity and character make the difference between shooting being received by a man as "I never chased you first so I am your prize, you are desperate" and "I am grateful to God you had the vision I didn't have yet to see what that shot would develop into and now we have something beautiful that glorifies Him and seeks His kingdom". Also maturity and wisdom make the shooting done by the lady less of desperation but more of a woman who knows what she wants and delivers the message in truth, preserving her dignity. Once upon a time,i asked a very old friend of mine(A male)who we ve been friends since secondary school days if he was interested him or if he likes me,and he was like NO,well i wasn't shocked but i was wawed because our friendship was just too deep and long.And i asked him that question because another guy was asking me out and i wanted to be sure i am not casting my pearls to swine😂when i ve a good old friend who can be the "Mr Right".I am still friend with this guy but we ve not been as tight and cool every since then.I asked him that question just last year our friendship is over a decade now. The first two people I've been with told me they liked me first and the second initiated a kiss right after she said that and i said i felt thesame way. This did not in anyway diminish them in my eyes. Just to put things in context I'd like to say we'd been friends for several months prior to this. The only reason I didn't make the first move is because i didn't feel worthy of them and just couldn't gather the confidence to act. When it ended it was because we had different ideas of religion and it was really getting in the way. It had nothing to do with who said what first. I don't think anyone who really cares about you would be bothered or deterred because you made the first move. That's like saying a woman would be less attracted to a man because because he said he likes her. If you shoot your shot and it doesn't work out then they didn't really care about you in the first place. But you weren't rejected because you made the first move. Btw since we're on the topic of phones what do you'll think about your partner having access to yours in a marriage and while dating? Personally i don't think it's necessary.

Mathematically speaking 😂 your chance of winning a man is 1/66 ie less than 2% probability 🤷‍♀️ Omo, let’s just be true to ourselves, it’s not ideal for a lady to chase a man period! Position yourself by making him recognize you as a wife material, but don’t do the asking. Trust God to bring the man to you!
