thank you so much 🥹 it makes me really happy whenever someone compliments my hands because for most of my life i thought i looked like salad fingers 😭 LOL
it’s a really nice plum leaning dark red!! i went for the red one over the green or purple specifically because it’s so hard to find a nice darker red for keyboards, especially in the budget segment
it is!! it does have its limitations since there’s a kind of “frame” around the puller so stabilizer switches can’t be grabbed and outemu switches don’t worth as smoothly either, since they’re slightly bigger than regular switches. for the standard gateron/cherry style switches it’s perfect though and really saves a ton of time!
I do apologize for commenting so late but my keeb should be in soon and you are one of few GMK67 builds that say the PE foam for their mod was in the box. Was the foam you used the initial wrapper for the keyboard? Sorry to bother, looks and sounds great!
i’m not sure if they still provide PE foam but it’s the one the case is in for protection, yes! nowadays i’ve noticed a lot of brands have switches to plastic instead.
I was also gonna go for a red case and black keycap set but clacky build but the red case was unavailable at the time. So, I went for a white case and Aifei/YMK Dreamland set since they're also ABS which will sound close to a GMK set.
just got mine from aliexpress for €35 but seeing the red version got me regretting it even though they are like €55 or more aaaa… really nice video though. i own a akko 3068b but wanted another keyboard just bc my akko doesnt have a PC plate to see if i can make it more creamy :P hope this can do the job
Out of all the budget oriented keyboards you’ve built which would be your favourite as I’ve bought switches and key caps but I can’t make my mind up for the kit my favourite so far is the gas67 but I can’t make my mind up
for functions i think it’d be the gmk67 since i like knobs and it has the right alt key! but for typing feel/sound, the way i modded my gas67 is hard to beat for me personally. i really really like that and i also like how slim and light the case is since i use it for work and carry it around a lot :)
i do! have been using it regularly since :) the knob by now has given in for some reason and doesn’t react consistently anymore, but as for polyfill that’s no problem. the battery has a protective film if i remember correctly and theres no contact with the pcb because of the tape. i usually disconnect the batteries though to be extra safe!
i got them from keebox on aliexpress! they're shenpo keycaps i'm not sure if they have a specific name but if you browse keebox by "shenpo" it should come up
no it should be really thin band aids or medical tape at best! even regular band aids are too thick in my experience so i think electrical tape will be too thick too.
yes! i found that if every other component/spec stays the same, regular pe foam tends to produce a poppier sound over the stock switch pad. double poppiness if you put both, stock switch pad + pe foam
@@mangokeebs in case I stay with stock switch pad, is it still good? already ordered ktt grapegruit switches and csa keycaps for poppy and thocky build
@@joevincenttitular7564 yes i think the board is good as is! maybe 2-3 layers of tape cause it does sound a tad hollow, but other than that everything else is not needed
@@mangokeebs Thank you very much, also found a pe foam at the package so I'll probably replace the stock ixpe foam with it. Stay safe and God bless ur channel!!
