John looked so happy at this concert - definitely one of my favorites on this tour ;) The way they all interact with one another on the stage in their 3rd iteration together is just awesome - older, wiser but still at their core the same human beings lol you gotta love it.
He seemed down last night to me. The hood on and he didn’t move too much. But nonetheless he MURDERED it. Such a great show. Best show I’ve ever been too, and my favorite band. I heard them in Syracuse in a dome and it’s true when people say that outdoor venues the sound is better. Both concerts were amazing though.
@@thesnorman5666 I could see him smiling quite a bit from the from my view. Although agreed, his movement was very minimal. I feel like whenever he wears the beanie , he’s usually pretty mellow compared to when he lets the hair flow
That was a GREAT set. Seeing Snow live is unreal. John is amazing. And these guys are 60+. Love them. 9th time seeing them. They are up there with Metallica and Foo for great live shows.
The amount of people complaining about the setlist irks me when people should just be glad john is back let alone the fact they came to hershey of all places and absolutely murdered their 90 min set.
My issue is why put out 2 double albums of new music when your only going to play a few from the whole pile? I appreciate John being back but give us something a lil more maybe a 3 hour set to fit in more newer material ? Metallica plays 3 hour sets and change up the set lists all the time. Chili peppers just got too comfortable 🤷🏾♂️ playing the usual known songs
90 minutes is ridiculous and they’ve been getting away with it for 20 years. Play 2 hours like most bands at this level and charging hundreds a ticket.
@@dmbgator86 Nobody leaves a theater after a standard length 90 min movie complaining they didn’t get their moneys worth when another film playing in the theater might be 3 hrs long, but same ticket price. Also many new cds and vinyl are pretty similar in price whether they have 12 songs or 22. They’re just different experiences by different artists. I agree tickets cost too much overall but I don’t agree they are necessarily obligated to play 2-3 hour sets, most bands I see in arenas/stadiums are 90 min and if some bands go longer good for them, I personally don’t like standing for 2-3 hr sets but that’s just me
I don’t know what I enjoyed more, the Miami show I saw in 2022 or the show I saw in Hershey but I do know they rocked my ears off both times. Thank you RHCP
John Frusciante used Jimi Hendrix’s 1964 white Stratocaster during this amazing performance of “Eddie”. He purchased the guitar in April 2022 from Armand Serra.
He’s so lucky! ❤ I love that for John! He’s such a big fan of Jimi and so am I! He said during the Can’t stop music video that he only plays old guitars! They sound better honestly!
That’s so fucking awesome I got to see Jimi’s “Linda”, in action, by the hands of the John Frusciante.. mind blown. Thank you for this information I had no idea he purchased it.
I won free tickets to this concert so my best friend went along with me, our first Peppers event. We had a blast and thought the show was amazing, definitely exceeded my expectations. Just wish the show was 30 mins longer.
@@91945punx yeah. A guy was hit. He was OK though. A little banged up is all. But yeah, took us over an hour to get out. idled in one spot for 45 mins without moving an inch. Was rediculous. The whole thing as far as logistics was stupid. Early entry pit tickets..we get there at 2..line up for access at 3:15. Time comes and they file is into a big hallway and make us wait until venue door at 5. Like WTH. Any other venue early access is early access. Not separate entrance but same time access. Then the vendor stands were around the concourse with checkpoints galore. I went for drinks and had to pass 3 bottleneck checkpoints. Didn't even try for a merch stand. Didn't even see one. Was a long day with a LOT of standing around. But awesome show.
Thanks for posting. I was up in nose bleed section, reliving last night up close...yeah, a few hits were omitted, but the amazing music and visuals in there stead was an excellent!! They are truly exceptional artists.
Couldn’t agree more! Although when I found out they were going to play under the bridge but instead went with I could’ve lied, I felt shattered! That’s one song I’ve always wanted to hear live and haven’t gotten lucky enough yet! Lol
@@jcmk2000 The scenario you described has happened to us 4 out of 5 times on this current tour. I believe it was the Vegas show that John actually started playing Under the Bridge and switched into I Could’ve Lied.. We did FINALLY see Under the Bridge in San Antonio, I believe. At Hershey, I noticed they started the Under the Bridge backdrop on the screen but then it switched. I actually had a dream a few nights back that I met Anthony and the one question I asked was “Why do you guys always write Under the Bridge but play I Could’ve Lied?” And he said “I can’t tell you, it’s a secret” 😂😂😂
@@thematthewlukas1503 I saw John do that!! It was at the dc show I believe that happened there as well! Then someone in the background said what a liar lmao! Also honestly I feel like that’s what ak would say if asked that question😂
@@thematthewlukas1503 I also did notice the backdrop for utb as well, in the moment I saw it and didn’t really react but then rewatching the video I screamed haha
People should feel lucky they even got to see the chili peppers. The crowd was dead in my opinion. It was like a bunch of first concert goers or people that weren’t really into the chilis. They are in their 60’s still out performing any other band. Give them a break for not playing every song they have. Just means they have so many hits that they can’t fit them all into a short time allowed by the venue. I’ve always wanted to see them growing up but didn’t get the chance. They were too big and always over seas. I finally saw them last year in Philly and this year at Hershey. Philly was a way better experience all around. Hershey was way too crowded and needs to be remodeled. It felt unsafe everywhere but at our seats up front.
Not where I was sitting. Me and everyone in my section was screaming all the lyrics at the top of our lungs, cheering on John every solo, high fiving and hugging after and during songs.... Bummer you weren't in my section!
Awesome. I have the pick John throws after the Soul to Squeeze solo. We watched him throw it and once the song ended my wife spotted it and I asked the security guard to hand it to me because it didn't make it past the metal barrier. The pick is worn down like I used it for months because John was shredding so hard during this show.
@froogmanno almost got his set list too. My wife let a girl squeeze up to the rail next to us because she came all the way from Texas for the show. She ended up with the set list. She had a crazy sign too that called AK a Zaddy 😂 whatever that is. She was really nice though. Was happy for her.
@@NoticerOfficial Definitely going to. I ordered the foil Hershey concert poster. Gonna mount it in a frame with that. You can rest easy in that a fan got it. Johns been my favorite artist for about 20 years now. His solo work and work with RHCP.
@@Robdukes23HA No way!! I remember that! They showed her sign on the hard cam during the encore for the last two songs, as well as someone dressed as Santa and I remember the crown erupted when they showed him!😂
54:09 AK: you realize what you just played? JF: 🤷🏼♂️ AK: Jimi Hendrix.. I love that. AK always praising how good John is. Not to mention John was literally playing Jimi’s 1964 Strat “Linda”.
Also at least they turned John’s vocals up here compared to when I saw them in Syracuse. Such a good show. Sure I’d have loved to see UTB or otherside or maybe Venice queen. But I’m happy with what we got. Love these guys. And John is the best guitarist going.
Was there! I was hoping they would open with Can’t Stop but had a feeling it was going to be Around the World simply because of the “down with the state of Pennsylvania” lyric.
If you get to see them in Philly next year(hopefully they tour again)go for it. The sound and venue is 10 times better. You can actually walk around without being shoulder to shoulder
They who strive look beyond the weak and Werry……………………and we have to strive for more ………………🙏🏻🇺🇸🙏🏻oh yeah I was at the Reno show when they came up w/ I love dirt song off the fly……………and Johnny was bk in the band………………………I was dancing all around that dirt floor that night ……………………………… 💃and I miss EDDIE SO MUCH……………………I’m he’s 1# fan I’m 63 this November 7th /🌶️🥁🌶️🎸🌶️🎸🌶️🎤🌶️🎹🤘🏼
Thanks for taken this great sound. Me and wife healths not the best we had seats over in stands near stage nice to get front view later. Woodstock 99 i was so tired i stayed on side too . They sound as great if not better all these years. Inspiring. Too cold to wear socks for pants. Flea was the bravest in 99 wearing just a sock. Those ripping high squeels from John make it a classic peppers show. I tried it at home and didnt work out so well. Lol kids dont try it at home. Althou after taking up keyboards i like adding some to their songs. Seen them in 2006 and didnt realise they started using moog synths. More songs and more piano to some actually sound cool. They should. Soul To Squeeze on keyboards or harmonica sound cool. Just saying.
I was there..GREAT show. One of the top for me. Seems they cut 3 songs they did at other locations. Since they ended almost exactly at 10PM I was wondering if the noise level ordinance on a week night for Hershey was the issue. Just a thought. I was very happy and cannot complain. Especially since Anthony had a cast on and still delivered.
Flew in from St. Louis for this show because I had a pit ticket just given to me from a friend I met at a previous show, could not pass up that opportunity lol they were incredible per usual, but the traffic getting out afterwards was god awful. Do people from PA not know what a single file orderly line is? It was a free for all in the lot I parked in Lmao
Yeah right in front of our truck was a drunk couple who rear ended somebody, so we had to sit through the whole thing! They eventually were taken into custody after failing the field test. Whole ordeal lasted like a whole hour
looks like it, idk if the video shows the billboard cameras with the band on them but they showed johns pedal board last nigbt and its definitely grew a lot lmao
What was everyone’s favorite song they did? (not necessarily meaning your favorite song in general) I enjoyed Eddie, Snow or zephyr song the most that night I think.
They played my two favorite songs, I could have lied and don’t forget me. I was shocked I got both. I think californication was the best of the set tho. It got me so hype and felt just like the 90s/early 00s
So from what it seems John maybe going through some hard days. I believe that the Chilis did a light set for John and they were all just trying to make sure John was all good. I was in the pit and I believe they sounded amazing and I loved every second of it. I felt the love between them all and everyone needs to realize these are people too. Have some compassion for who they are. They came out and killed it in my opinion. I love my Chilis and if John is truly having a hard time I send my love and positive healing vibes his way.
The security was so lax lol me and my pops moved all the way from the far side of the bleachers all the way to the left side closer to the stage lol all the way to basically section one lol and we were in these one peoples seat and went “Woops sorry” and moved down a spot and got even closer 😂😂 everyone was chill about it we all were passing joints and we made us all fit fine. Wish the crowd was a bit louder for the boys though.
If you’re complaining about the set list, you’re a shit supporter. They played I Like Dirt for Christs sake. It was perfect. So happy I was up front for this one.
No I think he was in the pit because you can see him moving forward past like two rows of people who were probably in line for the pit before him. I know because I was the first one there and I numbered everyone based on the order they arrived. That’s common pit etiquette. Walking in front of people to record crap video is not.
@@kingsid24 As do I…which is: Absolutely ridiculous. Apparently you’ve never heard Eric Gales or Guthrie Govan or Blackbyrd McKnight or Isaiah Sharkey or.....
Was honestly just a little disappointed to not get Carry Me Home. We drove 900 miles total for this show. If they do wet sand in Connecticut imma lose my shit cuz I can’t make that one!
They even posted a picture on Instagram of the West Stand at Hershey and blotted it so it said "We t S and". I swore they were gonna play it. Totally blueballed. Was a great show though.
@@DYPJG yes they were! I had predicted they would play that and utb and I had even thought otherside would make sense, although the setlist was cut 3 short and I could’ve lied replaced utb, great show tho! That intro jam was easily my favorite out of all the intros they have done!
@jcmk2000 Ohhh yeah that was a killer intro jam. And that's a tad disappointing, Would've loved to have heard either one but I'm just thankful I was there and got to see them for what may have been my last time (considering their ages now). Here's to hoping they play it at a future U.S. show. 👍👍👍
People showed such little enthusiasm for such an amazing group. Had some fat girl SITTING DOWN behind me complaining she wished i would be "still" so she could see the show. The fold out chairs were lame. I was the only one in my section dancing. You can tell by how Anthony was frustrated with such a lame crowd and just left abruptly at the end. Sad. 😢 They won't be back.
THIS. I was at their DC show last year and the crowd was great. I really felt like they could sense how lame our crowd was last night in their performance. So sad because they were great. What a shame! People beside me were saying “yeah they arent my favorite band ever, they are alright”…THEN WHY ARE YOU HERE? So frustrating.
I LEGIT had second-hand embarrassment from the way the crowd was acting. I've been to many, many shows and festivals and never seen a crowd as awful as this!!
@@Cinnamonlegacy77 This was only my second concert ever tbh. And they were my first last year. HUGE difference in DCs crowd versus last night. Thought maybe it was just my opinion but nope, this comment section validates that.
ive seen them a dozen times and this performance was top 3 last night. i was blown away by all the jams and solos. the crowd did seem a little older then normal. maybe it was the smaller venue that didnt have the same energy as a mega stadium. METLIFE with a 70k crowd was absolutely bonkers but this was so much more intimate and i enjoyed every second of it.
all great songs, but im happy they didnt play them. the setlist had so much more to offer. i also saw them a dozen times. so if this was your first, i get why youd be bummed
I can attest to why the vibe was bad, for me at least. St. Vincent had this SUPER creepy "guitar solo???" (harsh low frequencies being blasted while she and her other guitarist did this strange plucking...) segment with a blood red backdrop, with red clouds, that were raining blood. I was in the pit and had the weirdest negative feeling from all of it. Her whole band had a glazed over, almost paralyzed look in their eyes and they just stared at the crowd. She was leaned over on her guitarists shoulder and they were heads to the floor (hard to describe, just search for her performance). A dude in front of me me was even like "is she okay...?" Very alien, dark vibe to it. The crowd was quiet and you could tell everyone was like "Wtf are they doing?" You'd just have to be there. Felt like it set a tone for the evening and not in a good way. Nonetheless, RHCP was FANTASTIC!
St Vincent is awesome! But yeah I could tell the crowd didn't quite get her sound. You have to appreciate David Byrne and like Bjork to understand the vibe
I was in the pit as well. Everyone just looked at each other. The bass being blasted through your body felt evil or something. The main chick was a real fucking weirdo. Creepy to say the least!
