When the interviewer says, "... and then Hillel dies. " "How do you feel?" I really feel that this is not an appropriate question to ask. You can see from Anthony's reaction , he doesn't really even know how to react. It is such a personal question that I feel only Flea and Anthony can relate to about.
He started off at Live Earth in London and the Stadium Arcadium tour as the second guitarist before John left. Which is why I thought when John rejoined the band Josh would remain in it.
@@0o0Naz0o0I would be as well, since he was trying to fill Frusciante's shoes, which is daunting, to say the least. He was just starting with the band here, sort of. Thankfully, he found his own shoes. I am sad that they won't probably play any of the stuff they did while he was around again. Frusciante would have to put his ego aside.
People are so darn mean to new band members. Let Josh be who he is. He was good enough for them to like him. I would be shy too if I had to get in front of all you angry jerks.
1985: how did you get George Clinton to produce your album? We called him on the phone. 2011: How did you get Damian Hirst to design your cover? We called him on the phone.
@@dennydarkko attraction is relative...so maybe she hasnt (or he or whatever) has come across someone they find attractive, lol not trying to be an ass either but....attraction is opinion ....we cant speak for each other on this subject, much like music...like eh....yea you like them, i dont...nobody is right or wrong just taste/opinion you know that old saying beauty is in the eye of the ----- you can finish the rest lol
I love how they're such a flamboyant band but they're so supportive of Josh. It's almost like he doesn't fit as far as personality but the other's seem very protective of that and respect the fact that he might not like the media side of things and so they cover for him. Love that!!! :) x
StereoChimps yes, it's a great interview. The interviewer did a great job of asking them deep questions, getting them to open up. They're one of the best bands to come up in the last few decades & their music & legacy is timeless. They will continue to rock & be loved by future generations, even many decades from now 💜
Theresa L. Dowling cause they make good music. they’re rockstars, buttfucked on drugs 24/7 like most people in this industry. yes, they are some horrible, horrible acts but if we diminished every rockstar for their mistakes that they made, we wouldn’t have this genre of music anymore. fuck off please
Man the interviewer just focused on Flea and Anthony the entire time and in the end threw a generic repeatedly asked question to Chad. You could sense Chad's frustration by his sarcasm. Chad was probably thinking the entire time wtf am I doing here and why is he asking the shitty questions to me.
Josh seems like such a cool and down to earth guy, and he's so shy, and for those saying Josh sucks, JOSH IS AMAZING AT WHAT HE DOES, I saw them live a couple of weeks ago, and it was amazing, and my eyes we're fixed on Josh at all times.
I saw them live on January and it was the best night of my life. Josh seems pretty shy but I love the way him and Flea play off of each other and they are awesome.
Ok thank you fuse for doing this interview. I have been a fan for 21 years and have followed so much of what the Red Hot Chili Peppers have done over the years. While I can see this interview being beneficial to someone who is just know starting to realize the amazingness that is the Chili Peppers, for a seasoned fan like my self, it kinda pissed me off. I feel like half of the interview was pertinent to the new album. Every other question has been regurgitated from previous interviews over years of playing. Many of those questions half to scratch at the scares of the Red Hot Chili Peppers past. I just pictured myself in their situation, having to be questioned about dark/rough times in their lives that they have OBVIOUSLY moved past. I could just see the boredom on their faces as the second hand questions were asked. I don't doubt that this is not the first time this has happened, but think of all the other beneficial questions that could have been asked instead of second hand garbage that doesn't need to be asked. If you watch 80% of any other interview you could find the same questions being asked. So not only do I feel bad for the band having to put up with these questions, but as a listener I found myself frustrated. Non the less, the Red Hot Chili Peppers handled it like champs.
I have to say Touré is a very good interviewer...he covered so many aspects of The Chilis and everybody seemed so natural to answer the questions asked....except Josh, but he is who he is....
Agree - My opinion is that ihe should've stopped at one question (if that). Guess he rolled the dice. I was thinking though, I'm sure he would've got clearance with the managers first that he wold be bringing this up potentially or asked if anything is off limits. (Otherwise I would've assumed they could possibly storm off or leave).
This interviewer has some weird fascination with death. “How’d it feel when Hillel died?” “Did you go to the funeral?” “Did you go to the grave?” What is he writing a book ?
Shut up sure frusciante couldn’t handle the fame as much as the rest of the band could but he has his rights and if he didn’t want all that fame it’s his life and I respect him so much for that
I always felt like the Chilis are that unique situation of 4 guys totally in love and inspired creatively, and having the most fun imaginable and beyond; as well as having a huge following and love from a lot of people. Love'em:)
It feels like Josh hasn’t really accepted himself as a part of Red Hot Chili Peppers, like he doesn’t feel comfortable enough being his own person. This is shown highly in his guitar playing, he mimics Fruciente to live up to a legend. He’ll find his balance.
I feel like he doesn't accept himself because he feels like he's not accepted by most of the fans. People are awful to him and always talking about John.
No where close as funny and a horrible interviewer. I'm gonna say he was nervous but these guys are great. Anthony can be so sarcastic with his humor and the interviewer blew right pass that. Horrible questions and horrible editing cuts. But I love the band. I love flea's sincerity and you can tell just how much of an easy going guy he is by answering the same questions in a million different ways. Love chad's sense of humor too. And watching this 5 years later makes me so fucking grateful that the band is still producing one of a kind music. They're last 2 albums have been fucking awesome. In with You has just such a fucking intense soundscape and you can a little of everything. It's a real journey. It's loud, it can be quiet, and Anthony's lyric writing is at his top game. He's more conscious about the story he wants to tell and it's not hard to see why. Brendan's death song is amazing.. I love this band forever.
I loved this interview! I didn't realize how deeply spiritual Flea is. I haven't even heard any of their music with the newer band mate. I'm about to check it out right now!
even as I go and see this interview again, I must comment, it makes me HAPPy and purposefully determined to WIN!💜 Thank you for GOING through the interviews.
The evolution of this band 💜 through transformation of selves... I think as humans, participators in the life experience, we ALL can relate to the “story”... that’s what makes music so touching and critical and valuable🦋 it gives a voice to expression of experience... so much love and gratitude 💜🙏🏼🤟
He's sitting with three of the most legendary artists of all time, replacing the fourth of the group, talking about a band that's been around for decades, that he's been in for months. Not much else for him to be, but shy Heh.
I'm with You seems to get a lot slag in general. I honestly don't know why.. It's not that far from "Stadium Acradium" in my mind. Not every record has to be the best they've ever done. I still appreciate it. It's not their best but it's still an enjoyable listen which is what I ask for in a record.
Punk's Not Dead yeah he did. First time he left it was abrupt and sudden because he couldn't cope with fame and fortune at the time. Second time it was for good because he had his music stuff (which had improved thanks to his return to the Chili peppers in Californication era) .
Way to go band for handling the alcoholism question with grace, I think the dude interviewing could have approached the topic in a more subtle and serving way than he had.
These guys are so cool to talk too. Seems like they liked the interviewer descently, the answers were friendly and honest. Some interviewers tend to pot stir the past too much or act like pyscologists, I hate that. This guy was rather friendly with this band.
what a band.only thing that ever annoyed me was when I went to see them live in Cardiff.there were vans driving around advertising the last three more commercially successful albums only. to me every album they've done should be listened too.appreciated and loved.a crazy genius band.brilliant live.and a classic band who showed the world they did there apprenticeship to be one of the best.
I don't dislike Josh and his talent is huge, esp playing with someone like John and taking over this mantle. i just think the chaotic childlike overconfidence of rhcp didn't exist in this Era, you can see it here where they're trying to encourage Josh to talk and trying to keep it inclusive. Chad was checked out but even the little he said was joking around. Johns quiet too and hillel was introspective, but both of em had that silliness to em. It feels more anxious with Josh and i say this as someone who has anxiety too so i totally get it lol. I'm with you was a good solid album though. This interviewer didn't do any research lmao
no es necesario sacar 5 albums nuevos cada año ya no tienen la energia de antes talvez tampoco la necesidad economica ni la orden de una discografia para sacr un album cada tantos años solo sacan algo nuevo cuando ellos quieran
