It was around 8th grade me and my friends started surfing and skating and got Thrasher magazine, in 1984 they were in Thrasher Mag and we got Freaky Styley, omg "Yertle The Turtle" it seems like everyband we liked from 82 on went on to be super groups, Cure, Smiths, U2 and it took people a while but the Pixies were a big deal and so was Fishbone.
