Hes my favorite drummer ever. He is very capable of playing technical and I've heard it, but he plays from the heart and that's most important. Hes so funky and solid and I love the subtleties in his playing. Hes the best imo without him and joh. The peppers wouldn't have made it. Not bashing on the musicians before them I'm just saying that chad john flea and anthony are a match from heaven when they get together the energy is like no other.

101chillen They took a 2 year break in 2008 and Flea said he wanted to start touring again in 2009 but John decided that he wanted to leave the band to do solo stuff. So RHCP took a break until they asked Josh if he wanted to join the band in 2011 because he was already friends with Anthony, Flea, and Chad and he also played with them a couple time live and even played on some of John's solo albums. I think he's a really good replacement for John.
