Greetings from Southwestern Ontario, Canada. I really appreciate your videos, Adam. They are packed with lots of info, and are a great reminder of tasks I need to do in my own gardens. It’s easy to get burned out at this time of the year, especially with all the heat and humidity, but your videos keep me motivated to get out there. And now I have a new plant to try and track down! I have only previously seen the usual yellow and orange kniphofias, which don’t appeal to me, but I quite like the pale yellow variety you showed.

@@NancyMoras thank you so much and your generous comments are very much appreciated. Yes do check out ‘Poco Citron’. The colour really appealed to me so perhaps you’ll also find it will fit in to one of your displays. Happy gardening.

Hi again Adam, I love your videos as always. I bought red hot poker last year, this year it’s come up with lots of foliage but no flowers are appearing. Is there anything I can do to make it flower ? It’s in the sunnyest place it can be, full sun all day.

I think your plant is just taking this year off to get established, sending roots down and developing a good crown of leaves. Kniphofia have a reputation for doing this in their first year, but as it is growing strongly I’m sure it will flower next year. Lack of water early in the year when flower spikes are developing can also cause poor flowering but as your plant is growing strongly it probably isn’t this. Disappointing I know but keep watering and feeding and I’m sure yours will flower next year.
