Lovely vid! Unfortunately the rod break was 100% down to the angler. Never ever lift any rod by holding the blank - they are not designed to do this and it’s a sure way to snap it.

Thank you for liking the video! True about not holding the rod by the blank. Sometimes in the heat of a frantic battle we may forget. Good thing they come with lifetime warranty, and we get to return for redemption!

That was a 7wt Sage Method, definitely need a tougher rod for that fish. Remember to watch the other videos of the same trip.
