Back-to-back shots comparing the old Sony F35 to the Red Komodo. These are clips from various testing days.
In this version, there was no sharpening to either camera's footage and no super scaling of the F35's 1080 footage up to 4K. It was only upconverted to 4K at export.
I applied the same LUT and similar curves to get both camera footage to look somewhat decent and similarly graded.
Komodo was filmed using Raw as its ProRes capability seems very limiting in post for some reason. For me, it's RAW or nothing on the Komodo.
F35 was captured in ProRes 444 on the Odyssey 7Q recorder.
In my opinion, these cameras work surprisingly well together. We would use the F35 for all daylight footage and Komodo during lowlight environments. Both have their strengths and weakness.
