I never understood how Atrocitus, who saw his family and planet murdered in front of his eyes, loses to Guy in terms of Rage. Can you or anyone explain what are the criterias for being worthy of the ring in terms of rage?
In my opinion I think it might have to do with his Green Lantern origins as well as him being a Red before too. I’m thinking Guy might’ve had enough internal hate for himself to match Atrocitus but the will to use it better and connect to the Red Lantern Corp on a level Atrocitus never had. It’s kinda consistent in Lantern Lore that it takes a lot more than just having raw emotion to pull stunts like these. Like Guy had mentioned he only ever used his power to make others suffer bc of his hate. Plus this isn’t the first time former GLs have overpowered the Emotional Magnetic Spectrum.
Having enough of one emotion to be considered worthy of a lantern is a feat. Now imagine having enough of 2 to be worthy of multiple rings. It gets to a point of you experiencing the emotional spectrum at a higher level than the average lantern, and it extends the power of each emotion.

If I’m not mistaken, guy his entire life has been shunned by everyone, from an abusive father he could’nt live up too, to the lantern corp where some believed he wasn’t good enough and didn’t belong, I think that’s why he was so angry but I may be wrong.

im not a DC fanboy but i thought years ago when they started the red lantern and blue stuff it failed. fans of green lantern only liked the green lantern corps and sinestro as the bad guys. red lantern was barely tolerated wile people waited for more to be released . so wtf is this ?
