@@itachitmk936 i got burnt out from anime. Sometimes you wanna see stories enacted by real people not drawings. Grow up and let people enjoy what they do.
As a korean it kinda feels weird to see all these react youtubers that I used to watched are watching a kdrama. But Im glad everyone can see a new type of asian culture other than japanese anime(witch I do love.).
Binged this show immediately. I'm telling you some Korean dramas are gold. Some are really convoluted and a waste of time, but some are gold. This is definitely gold.
I'm not gonna lie, I've watched all episodes of this show and my guilty pleasure is watching reaction videos, so I've watched plenty of this show. I've really enjoyed yall's reaction so far. I'm also a glass and some change of wine deep. Got me thinking about what you said, he can change. No amount of money is going to help if he doesn't somehow change. So true.
Honestly watched it a few times, gotta say I enjoyed the English dub alot more. I usually hate English dubs on 95% of shows I watch, but the ones on this show hit different.
Everyone is reacting to that show these days, makes me wonder why kdramas didnt get much views before Squid Game. And I am delighted to see you guys reacting to it :)
Probably cause most k dramas are usually romance with no action and drama between character is the most tension you get. Squid game has the tense action packed games along with the usual great characters and acting, so it appeals to a bigger audience than a normal k drama show.
Belz, I don't know if you two already know this but 1 US dollar is around 1000 Won, so you guys won't misunderstood anything related to money in this series
Yes, Squid game is a kid's game Korean kids used play in old days. Kids between the age of 11-15 played. Actual game had more complicated rules than the rules explained in this show and because of physical nature of the game they often tore the clothes. I don't think kids nowadays play the game nor they ever heard about the game. When the narration said 'die' in the introduction of the game, he meant you get eliminated from the game for that round. The translation was not good.
The actual word in korean used for "eliminated" simply means "out". That's why everybody signed the contracts. They were clueless that being eliminated means being killed. Hence that first guy (shot) playing a fool, and the second one asking him why he isn't getting up. 🙁
you'll definitely like the south korean film Train To Busan too. The main actor in it is the same actor who played the recruiting guy at the metro station in Squid Game (the handsome guy in the suit).
6:55 i just love people's reaction on this scene. i've watched like 10 reacions of episode 1 and they all have different reaction. this is why i love reaction clips. review sucks ! reaction rocks ! 😁 20:33 he could've carry him on his back. only if there was no time limit, tho.
I don’t wanna spoil it for you guys but all I’m going to say is that the guy in the black mask also known as the front man is a very famous Korean actor who’s done a few big Hollywood movies. I’m curious to see if you guys can figure out who it is just by hearing his distorted voice. Shockingly wether he was speaking English or Korean I was still able to figure it out on who it was by the this episode.
This type of survive game story, Japanese anime/drama/movie got a lot and more earlier than Squid Game. 1. Battle Royale 2. Liar Game 3. Btoom 4. Gantz 5. Kaiji 6. As the Gods Will
7:11 It's soo fascinating and kinda messed up/sad to see Americans even consider or have the slightest doubt that the girl was holding a real gun because in Korea it is completely illegal to own guns so Koreans watching this would never in a million years think "Oh damn, that could be a real gun" lol . Owning or distributing firearms in Korea is definitely against the law. Consequently, there is virtually no guns available to civilians so to see an actual working gun with a civilian is an impossible sight in Korea
this series show the modern society's problem very deeply, director use simple games but every moment he calculated to show how class structure operates
Fun fact the Pistol scene is actually a joke tho because In Korea having guns is prohibited and they're taking serious even the Police aren't allowed to carry guns with them so most of the Korean audience knew it already that it's gonna be a lighter or some shit but in a Pistol shape
"무궁화 꽃이 피었습니다" is not "Green Light, Red Light". “What’s the time Mr Wolf?” is closer and row meaning of this is "Rose of Sharon is blossoming" (Rose of sharon is korean flower). this game was coming against to Japanese Conquer of Korean. 잘 보고 갑니다. From Korean.
I grew up in Indonesia and in most Asian countries it's not shameful to live with your parents until you get married even if its into your 20's, but no job, prospects, and no potential family at 30 is definitely something looked down upon.
Every games in the show are real, including the Sqiud game itself. I used to play those games with my friends as a child in korea. Thankfully nobody got shot.
Yo, literally just started watching it today, too, after seein it everywhere on social media and netflix. Love this change of content, btw. Really refeshing to see you guys watch somethin other than anime 👌
