Well can anyone tell me how one can make lyrics like these fit into a song so well made, i my self would have to use it as the main background music for a ALL OUT EPIC FINAL BATTLE?
@@superstarduck3823 im pretty sure ruby says "It doesn't matter how" and her mom says "It doesn't matter now". They both say something different that reflects how they feel
Let's talk for a minute about how hard it must have been for Casey to preform a duet from the perspective of a girl who lost her mother, _with her mother._
Took you that long? For me it was the Yellow Trailer that got me hooked. Could be because at the time Yang seemed like my OC come to life (both tall, blonde bombshells that use fiery punches to kick serious ass. What's not to like?) they ended up being quite different in the endw, but still
... Wow. This is supreme irony. I never expected to see a version like this go up, so I took the individual songs from the full album and spliced them together in an audio editor. Next day? This shows up. The odds...
Ruby looks forward with a determined look, as she cocks Crescent Rose. With the force of being shot out of a cannon, Weiss had the glyph send Ruby flying. As she soars through the air towards the Giant Nevermore, Ruby fires several shots, in order to keep herself propelling forward. She finally reaches the bird creature, and wraps the blade around its neck. Weiss then conjures white glyphs onto the cliffside, and Ruby knows exactly what to do. She starts running upwards, using the glyphs, and her shots to keep her moving fast. She finally reaches the top, and with one last pull, decapites the Nevermore. Landing perfectly on top of the cliff, she turns around to look at the scene, and her friends before her. Her cape flutters behind her in the wind. Both enemies have been vanquished. The battle is won
sure Jeff isn't Kirk Hammett (Kirk Wahmmet) of Metallica but he's still got a lot of influence in that kind of soloing i'm so happy i have a wah in my multi fx unit, otherwise i'd have to buy one seperate lol, still i'm working on a guitar lesson for the intro wah solo but i don't know when i'll do it teehee, but an even better wah solo is in I Burn and that one took me three weeks to learn anyhow, wah pedals rule
"And all those times I swore that it would be okay..." Wow. That paints a mental picture. Just imagine: Little Ruby Rose crying as her mother heads for the door, Yang behind her, comforting, when Summer turns around, kneels down, pats Ruby on the head, and tells her that she promises to come back. After a while, Ruby gets used to it, until one day her Mom doesn't come back. Nobody knows what to tell her and she doesn't know what to think. Holy fuck.
Mytheon151 I've known who Monty was ever since Dead Fantasy. He's inspired me a lot for getting me into animation, and I want to create my own series someday. Monty will be missed.
*+SD .Dranzer* Monty Oum was an incredible and incredibly inspirational person. He was a self-made man who went from zero to successful through his dedication, talent, and hard work. I'd suggest looking him up and reading about his life.
Tomorrow will be the end for RT. Thank you for the amazing journey, this serie, these songs. RWBY will live on for all of us. As another song say, "All things must die". ... wait wait wait that wasn't the one... "Let's just live" yeah that's the one.
I was really hoping someone would upload this - the proper complete version of RLRp2. Thank you so much. The album version didn't feel complete without the instrumental buildup. Now it's perfect.
This song is now a million times more depressing than it already was because it sounds like the kind of sad questions and thoughts we're all having in the wake of Monty's death.
I love Sandy's vocals in this. Her vocals kind of sound like a really good male tenor sang it to me, but I mean that as a compliment. Just means she has a lot of soul and richness to her female voice.
All we know about Ren is he's damn good with aura and semblance control, but has less strength and endurance (he was winded and his attacks didn't do much other than loosen the stinger) Still cant wait to see him get some development
Ren is a skirmisher, he doesn't deal significant damage, rather he distracts his opponent to give openings for heavy-hitters like Nora. One-on-one, he tends to be overwhelmed, but he has a lot of synergy with his teammates.
I think that this particular version of this song is not only my favorite song in the series, but my favorite song in general. I don't know, but something about the emotional chaos and how you can easily tell which singer takes the place of which character in this bit of musical backstory and how each character feels about it so clearly just really really gets to me enough to make it my absolute favorite.
Yeah. I do NOT like the ending of that volume. It's because of what happened to poor Pyrrha. 😥 Team JNPR is incomplete without her. As a matter of fact, Team RWBY and the others couldn't live without poor Pyrrha Nikos. We need her back right now and have them get all of their special abilities back. Do you all agree with me?
How Dare You Say That!? I have already sent a Letter to Rooster Teeth and have them make a plot where Pyrrha gets resurrected. So don't say anymore about her being gone forever. Do you understand?
I'm hoping we get a flashback of Ruby's mum, Summer, and that she has her own kind of theme similar to this, where we see her being a full on badass to protect Ruby or something.
R.I.P Monty, your work will be known by a plethora of people, you gave us the joy of RWBY, your legacy will continue on, your memory will be kept alive. Zwei promises this.
It came from the grave at the beginning of the Red Trailer. On it are the words "Summer Rose - And thus kindly, I scatter" Summer Rose being a relative of Ruby's. What really sells it is the fact that this song is a duet between Casey Lee Williams and her mother Sandy Casey, as well as the lyrics, with Casey's lyrics being from Ruby's perspective and Sandy's from Summer's perspective. While it's greatly theorized upon that it's Ruby's mother, some also believe it could be her sister, though the Casey Lee/Sandy Casey connection makes me feel it's almost certainly her mother.
Randy Phan True. Supposedly, each member of Team JNPR are based on a figure, mythical or otherwise, of the opposite sex known for cross dressing. Jaune is, of course, based on Joan of Arc. Lie Ren is based on Mulan. I think I heard that Pyrrha is based on Achilles. We can only hope she has stronger heels.
I couldn't take it, couldn't stand another minute Couldn't bear another day without you in it All of the joy that I had known for my life Was stripped away from me the minute that you died To have you in my life was all I ever wanted But now without you I'm a soul forever haunted Can't help but feel that I had taken you for granted No way in hell that I can ever comprehend this I wasn't dreaming when they told me you were gone I was wide awake and feeling that they had to be wrong How could you leave me when you swore that you would stay? Now I'm trapped inside a nightmare every single f'ing day It's like a movie, but there's not a happy ending Every scene fades black, and there's no pretending This little fairy tale doesn't seem to end well There's no knight in shining armor who will wake me from the spell I know you didn't plan this You tried to do what's right. But in the middle of this madness I'm the one you left to win this fight Red like roses Fills my head with dreams and finds me Always closer To the emptiness and sadness That has come to take the place of you Voice 2 (Sandy): I know you're broken down by anger and by sadness You feel I left you in a world that's full of madness Wish I could talk to you, if only for a minute Make you understand the reasons why I did it I wanna tell you that you're all that ever mattered Want you to know that, for eternity, I'm shattered I tried so hard just to protect you, but I failed to And in a prison of abandonment I've jailed you I never planned that I would leave you there alone I was sure that I would see you when I made it back home And all the times I swore that it would be okay Now I'm nothing but a liar, and you're thrown into the fray This bedtime story ends with misery ever after The pages are torn, and there's no final chapter I didn't have a choice, I did what I had to do I made a sacrifice but forced a bigger sacrifice on you I know you've lived a nightmare I caused you so much pain But, baby, please don't do what I did I don't want you to waste your life in vain Voice 1: Red like roses Fills my head with dreams and finds me Always closer To the emptiness and sadness That has come to take the place of you. Voice 2: You're not the only one who needed me; I thought you understood Voice 1: You were the one I needed, and you left me as I always feared you would Voice 2: Would I change it if I could? Both voices: It doesn't matter how The petals scatter now Every nightmare just discloses It's your blood that's red like roses Voice 1: And no matter what I do Nothing ever takes the place of you Red like roses Fills my head with dreams and finds me Always closer To the emptiness and sadness That has come to take the place of you Show less REPLY
The first fights of teams JNPR and RWBY. In these battles the fates of four would become entwined, and the future of Remnant would be included with them. And this song makes it so much better, Ruby remembering her Moms promise and why she's doing this. This is where she earned her position as leader
Spoilers Below... Listening to this song again, really makes me see the Rwby/Summer Rose dynamic, turn out like that for Jaune & Phyrra. She left him to fight the big evil of the time, and failed to return... leaving him to emotional distress and forcing him to want to enter the battle more than before...
To the people who think that this song is about Jaune and Pyrrha (because I know they are out there), this song is NOT about them. If it was, then Casey's part would be sung by Jeff. This song is about Ruby accepting that her mother is dead. This is a "conversation" between Ruby and Summer. This is also sung by a mother and daughter (Sandy and Casey).
The Moose Is Loose Okay, I'm not one of those people, but I think part of a song is it's meaning is open to interpretation, don't get me wrong, the original meaning is important and when this song was written, it was about Ruby and Summer... but In a roundabout sense it's applicable to Jaune and Pyrrha... just like it was also in a roundabout sense applicable to Yang and Raven... it's just a matter of interpretation...
People keep theorising that this song about how Ruby secretly feels or how she will feel in the future. But could it actually be about about how she used to feel? May be it's meant to be about how she felt when she first lost her mom. Seeing how much pain her sister was in could also be the reason Yang stepped up and became such a good sister to her.
PEPSIboy1010 Blood relatives yes, but she adopted her as her sister nonetheless ;) Just because they're blood relatives doesn't mean they were originally siblings.
why do I feel like summer was on a mission to find and kill Salem, Summers captured like Oz, and saying things like "your life in vain,, and my same fate" really puts v.3's cliffhanger in perspective.
This song will forever be my favorite out of all of the ones currently in the series and the ones to come because there'll never be a song that describes the same situation between me and my mother word for word like this one. Ever.
I had some friends over to play Smash, and we did an 8-player smash while listening to this song. We played as Rosalina & Luma, Samus, Fox, Ike, Shulk, Bayonetta, Bowser Jr., and Lucas.TEARS WERE SHED
X_blade13 Pretty sure she isn't Salem considering that Salem is the origin of the Grimm, which have been around long since Qrow and therefore Ruby's mom
I like to think that Summer made some decision that somehow connects Salem's fate to Ruby, thus "Forced to make a sacrifice of you." But, we shall see what what actually happened eventually.
Between the way she acts and Red Like Roses 1/2, I'm pretty sure that Ruby has some serious damage. Whatever happened in her past messed that poor kid up and it's going to catch up to her. That's gonna be hard to watch.
Amazing storytelling with a song, one of the things I love about RWBY is the music, it's made just for the series and each scene individually and it fits perfectly each time it plays.
FieryFire101 yep. This Will Be The Day was a giveaway to the first episode, where Ruby got her chance to start training as a hunter. Time To Say Goodbye is about the very real reality that you may Never be ready for the Real Thing. you have to grab your nuts and your training and step up regardless. shit can go down at any time and you have to be ready for a trial by fire.
Want to hear something _very_ interesting about this song? The first singer is Casey, who provides the female voice in almost every RWBY song, and in this particular song, represents Ruby. The deeper voice is Sandy, who represents Summer, Ruby's mother. I'm 99% sure that Sandy is Casey's mother. That means this song being sung between Sandy and Casey truly is being sung between a mother and daughter, just like how it's intended to be between Summer and Ruby.
OK, I think I just found my third favorite song. Amazing how much more I'm listening to this with the buildup added. o.o And i loved both the episode version and the album version already. ;p
Y'know, a lot of people seem to have a lot of different ideas about who this song about, so I thought I'd throw mine out there. I think that it's Yang and her mom. It makes sense when you think about it. Ruby's never seemed to be affected by her mom's death, and why should she be? She was so young at the time that I'd be surprised if she even remembered the day she found out. With that said, the phrase, "to have you in my life was all I ever wanted" really only makes sense for Yang, who's spent so much time looking for her mother. This makes even more sense when you take note of the fact that Yang's mom has just come back when everything is poised to go straight to shit. If she pulled some self-sacrifice crap, I wouldn't be surprised in the slightest. So, there's my theory.
If that were the case it wouldn't be called red like roses, implying it centers around Ruby. I personally.just think part 2 is Ruby's actual theme song and part 1 is the theme of team RWBY.
Loving Fool No, the title really doesn't imply it centers around Ruby. Well, the implication is there, but the implication isn't necessarily true. In any case, it could still bear the title regardless of who it's about. Remember, "Every nightmare just discloses, it's your blood that's red like roses." There's where the red like roses comes from, not necessarily from any attachment to Ruby.
asmcint There's nothing disproving that It's not about Ruby. But the blood isn't the key factor besides further pushing the character is dead (which had already been said in the first lines of the song), It's the color and roses. Who are the only two characters that are associated with red and roses? Ruby and Summer. Furthermore, it is never said Yangs mom died in battle, but both Yang and the song both spell it out that Summer Rose died in battle. Not to mention while the song is playing during the show it hits its "peak" when Ruby is putting her plan it motion and killing the nevermore and doesn't focus at all on Yang. This is also extremely important to consider since its trying to also show Ruby was growing as a huntress and leader.
asmcint Seriously, I would have no problem taking your theory seriously if the show didn't have such a huge emphasis on color and the song being called Red Like Roses.
