As a RED Owner, 100% upgrade to the DSMC2 7" monitor my brother. Best upgrade EVER! The menu system takes up so much that you don't really have much space to see the image and pull manual focus lol. DOPE Video though!
I’m sure I can start we a red camera if I want to! There’s no limit if you down to learn! Don’t like the fact of you telling ppl not to get a red if you are a beginner! It’s 2024! Even a kid can learn anything! 😅
Well, I'm not saying that beginners can't learn, what I'm saying is that if you grab a camera like a RED as a starter camera, of course, you won't use it to its fullest potential at first, though you'll learn. The bigger thing is that if you were to start with a RED, you won't appreciate its capabilities as much as you would if you used lesser cameras for years beforehand. The great DR and the ability to have absolute complete control over colors, contrast, highlight rolloff, and more in post, AFTER you've shot it is something that I appreciate heavily, because I didn't have that when I was shooting with mirrorless cameras. Somebody who starts with a camera with these capabilities can't appreciate it because they didn't start with something lesser.
Definitely not for amateurs 😢 I have one (and I’m a big amateur and it was a hand me down lol) and having a hard time trying to import my footage and changing the log into rec 709. I’m new to this so all my footage stays with a faded look. Do you have any videos and how to change the log footage and color correction?
Jealous, wish I had a hand me down for a red haha. Keep shooting with it. I'm probably not the best when it comes to color grading, but I do recommend this vid for it: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-QaRzBaeYC-o.html I would even tell you to keep shooting with less capable cameras so you can further appreciate the capabilities of a red
