_Ossu!_ 🦊🤘🥋 3:21 Reaction start. Thanks for coming back with this suggestion. As you can see SuMetal and the girls can make everyone sing no matter if you're metalhead or not, that's the power of several years of crowd control and of course the power of the Fox God -NotACult- 🦊🤘 The Kami Band is the regular band after 2014, according to the lore they were send by the Fox God to help the girls with the metal sound, they're the god of guitars, god of bass and god of drums. They're a elite set of musicians and among the best you can find in Japan. All of them are males, of course they got their own names but those never went on public officially, except for one who is credited for certain songs at studio album. They rotate so not always you'll see the same members, especially the guitarrists. In this rotation they were: - Míkio Fujioka, god of guitar, a beloved member, sadly he passed away in 2018. R.I.P.🙌 - Takayoshi Ohmura, god of guitar, he's Míkio' Fujioka's pupil and a prodigy child, you'll see his recognizable pink guitar. - BOH, god of bass, he's the bald one and not only got amazing talent but her fun way to enjoy reminds me Flea from RHCP. - Hideki Aoyama,, god of drums, he comes from a family of expert drummers, and his father is very famous in Japan music scene. Their latest special version live at PIA Arena MM 2023 got the Western Kami Band playing (all of them none Japanese of course) and introducing this new Metalverse with a nice surprise, but after that this song wasn't part of the setlist in the recent World Tour. This was live at Download Festival 2016 and as you can see it was raining like there's no tomorrow, i let someone else explain the funny story of Download, even the producer and creator KobaMetal had to mope the stage to prevent the girls got some accidents, is risky when the stage is wet. They're gonna be there at Download this year after 2018 which was the last time they went to rocking out the stage, hope you or Chelle can get the chance to see them live. The official MV is also worth to watch and it shows the meaning of the song very clear. Next suggestion to meet a SuMetal solo in case you didn't already: - Rondo Of Nightmare with Mischief Of Metal Gods Intro live at Budokan 2014. See you next time 🦊🤘🔥

Thanks again from Japan 有難う💛。As you noticed, it was raining very hard. Equipment on the stage were covered and floor was all over wet. Three girls could have aborted the performance and gone back to a comfortable hotel rooms but they didn't because the huge crowd was waiting and no one left the venue. The girls never modified their choreo even on the slippery stage (You can actually see Su-Metal slipping lightly at 06:30 in your video. ). On the contrary, Yui and Moa threw themselves onto the wet floor and Kamis moved their bodies hard (BOH, bassist, jumped) with the girls to cheer up everyone there. Those scenes moves me to tears, like you experienced. In an interview, Su said this Download 2016 was one of the most impressive festivals because of the bad weather. She felt very happy to see the crowd waiting for them in such drenched condition. In addition, she thought the heavy rain worked as some kind of stage effects to make their performance look dramatic to the audiences in a fever. [source: magazine "Headbang" vol.28 page 16] I love such a positive mindset of Su accepting any situation.

Good reaction - and welcome Chelle.🦊 In 2014 when BABYMETAL appeared at Sonisphere the Download organiser was asked if they would be playing there too. He is clearly not a fan, he said "There is a time and a place for a band like BABYMETAL, Download is not it, they will never play here!" In 2015 that same person tweeted that he had seen BABYMETAL wandering around back stage at Download and asking what was going on, they had not been booked to play. Later it became obvious that DragonForce had smuggled them in (they were due to play together at an award show in London a few days later) ... word got about that BABYMETAL would be on stage with DragonForce and the crowd that gathered far exceeded the capacity for the stage they were playing. DragonForce did invite BABYMETAL on stage and they played 'Gimme Chocolate' ... and the crowd loved it. The organiser had a change of mind (he is still not a fan, but that is because he has never stopped to watch and listen to them ... that is his loss) and here they were the next year playing their own set on the main stage. Their set was delayed for 40 minutes because of the rain, but it let off briefly, the equipment was covered, the stage had water swept off it (their producer Kobametal was out there doing it himself) to make it a bit safer for their choreo ... they warned each other to be careful but they did their full choreo despite it being so slippery. They were there on the main stage again in 2018 and would have returned in 2020, but everything was cancelled of course. 'Karate' was the lead single for their second album from 2016. It is about fighting adversity, when life knocks you down and everything seems too hard so you're hurt and crying, its about standing up and fighting on, helping each other through the hard times. They used karate to illustrate this as it is a Japanese martial art and reflects their culture - as with a lot of their songs it is also about always moving forwards. This song and the official video won 2 awards. "Best Metal Video in MTV Video Music Awards Japan 2016" and "Best Metal Song in 6th Annual Loudwire Music Awards". The official music video shows very clearly through the visuals exactly what the song is about with them battling their inner demons - not knowing the language, as you said, really doesn't matter much at all.

Love this performance. Su looks so tiny when she stands on the riser and has the crowd in the palm of her hands 😁 🤘🏼🦊🤘🏼

Great reaction! This was their fullest performance to reward the audience who had been waiting in the heavy rain for so long. Yui and Moa were not afraid to lie down on the soaking wet stage, and Su's eyes were filled with a strong light.

Nice one, thanks! Ah, Download 2016... it rained so hard all the weekend that the festival had to be renamed to "Drownload" for obvious reasons. 😁 Even Kobametal (their producer) was seen moping the water off the stage before their performance. Also kudos to that crowd, standing under the heavy rain like it was nothing. Yes, BOH (the bassist) is quite a showman. He definitely deserves credits for dancing, haha... 🤘🦊

Oh, it's absolutely worth seeing them live if you get the opportunity! I've only seen them once, and when they got to the end of the set I was torn between wanting more and amazement that they'd kept going for as long as they did!

They really do make for compelling viewing. I've never seen anythnig quite like it...and I've been around a good while. Nice comments a good reaction. Yeah, many referred to this year as the "Downpour Festival". One thing I love is it is pouring and that whole potentially grouchy English crowd is just out there taking in every second of this performance. The ladies command of the stage and audience is always an awesome sight.

Babymetal made it their mission to deliver amazing live performances, they worked for 10 years on it, while also still being in school and took a small break after which they had their biggest tour every, no more school, etc.

In EVERY Baby Metal song the choreography directly reflects each songs "storyline". That 1 reason why they use choreography. From the beginning they realized that most of their fans wouldn't understand Japanese, so their choreography tells the story of the songs lyrics. They think of everything.

Fun reaction thank you, and bring back Chelle for more Babymetal! ... Rumor has it that Su-Metal practices her vocals while performing high intensity aerobics on a treadmill as a relaxing start to her day.

This the festival where a bunch of the bands went home because rain? These girls performed because they didn’t want to let the fans down?
