Utterly heart breaking, darkly hilarious and deeply sad story, beautifully filmed in a landscape that shares the same characteristics. Bravo Sean Baker.
I cannot wait to see this film! Sean Baker, I appreciate what you do immensely :) I grew up with Simon and am so happy you gave him the opportunity to do this. Finally, a brilliant role that fits him and his talents. Congrats to you all and much success
I think that the cast of Red rocket are amazing people playing the part as there characters as well I think Simon Rex is a wonderful guy as as playing as actor play
The shots in this film were epic. Art film exraordinaiire. Not to mention the fine, fine dialog and trajectory of the story. My god, this was the best movie I've seen in 10 years.
Just saw the movie, it's great. Sean Baker has such a unique voice. Love all his films, the only one left to see is the Prince of Broadway (his first, I think). He seems so down to earth and a bit shy, too, which is refreshing.
I genuinely cannot understand how anyone could find the ending to this film "frustrating" - it gave me the sort of philosophical rush that only true masterpieces can pull off. 'Pig' and 'Another Round' definitely come to mind also, when it comes to recent masterpieces. The ending is perfect, as is the rest of the film! Quite surprised that people were annoyed with the ending to 'The Florida Project' also... people being frustrated by those endings is actually frustrating to me :')
I feel like the ending kinda redeems Mike’s character because after talking with Leondria he realizes that the only way for him to have a future in LA again is by using strawberry and ruining her life in the process just like he had used and ruined everyone elses life surrounding him
I’d like to see Simon Rex dressed like a gulf coast oil rig worker. Can you imagine him walking into a donut shop with his filthy jeans tucked into his boots? Dannnnnnng. 🔥🔥🔥
Recently I left the theater w/this film! I really liked it, albeit truly somber despite its quirky playful humor. Rob Zombie take note *this is how you make a lowlife (chánta, bien fiólo) real loveable (if 🌞🚂 "Schemer" did porn lol) despite "suitcase pimp" to his teen bride....that said for better or worse, I really crushed on Lexi and could side w/her since Bree earned it along w/script 👏 2021? 🇫🇷 titane & 🇺🇸 red rocket my faves 💪
je reste un inconditionnel d'Isabelle Adjani durant cet extrait de la chaine cannes festival. C'est une star, Isabelle Adjani est une star et plus encore, sinon elle serait pas star !!
In my opinion Simon Rex was the weakest part of this film. The film was brilliantly acted, edited, and crafted and Simon did well but his acting seemed out of sync with the rest of the cast. He couldn’t do an authentic Texas accent so they had to come up with an excuse for it.
I agree his character seemed out of sync, but it’s because he’d been in out in LA since 18 yrs old. Any narcissist would conform to that obnoxious character…”me me me”, and “I’m going to be huge again”. His character was def out of sync from the people who remained on the gulf coast.
@@amandat719 I think that was the point, because it made such a clear gap between the characters Lexi and Mikey although they are married and have so much history, but he also clearly feels far removed from her through the accent and his out of sync character.
