Quite a compliment from Jerry. Red was a legend of the business in being a clown. Jerry was so talented and to see how he admired Red was touching and heartfelt.
Red Skelton was a friend of mine. I met him at a Jerry Lewis muscler distrophy parade in Palm Springs California. That was in 1975. He was a good man. I sure do miss him. God Bless Mr. Skelton.
Stanley Denning I saw Red in concert twice. What a kind, caring, funny gentle, gentleman. At the end of both concerts, he told the audience that if he said anything to offend anyone, if any of his jokes offended anyone, he was truly sorry, that it is never his intent to ever offend anyone. And, I saw Jerry in concert, when he was on tour in Damn Yankees. I still have the ticket stubs from the concerts of both these comic geniuses.
This is a historic video. Two generations of laugh makers...both different but both entertaining the American public. Mr. Skelton from 1937 until 1971. (1913-1997) With the passing of Mr. Lewis...it was a lifetime of laughter. (1926-2017) Combined- 100 years of laughs and public love. We will never see the likes of them again. Cherish the love-the giving of both these funny men. God bless Red Skelton and Jerry Lewis.

❤RED SKELTON ONE OF THE FUNNIEST COMEDIANS OF ALL TIME.....AND JERRY LEWIS TOO. I MISS THEM BOTH. GOD BLESS. AND R.I.P. TO THEM BOTH. LOVE AND PR❤YERS. THANKS FOR THIS SHOW.
I had the luck of seeing Jerry Lewis in Vegas in about 2001 or so, and I have never seen someone who had honed and polished their craft more than Jerry. Talk about watching a master at work. He was so good that he was graceful.
Two of the finest physical comics EVER! They broke the mold with them. What a classy moment for Jerry. Red was and still is the clown prince of show business.
Jerry Lewis was beyond amazing a genius in his craft a brilliant comedian. Red Skelton was the best clown with the biggest heart ever I own a self portrait of him I see it every day of my life and it always makes me smile.
So funny, wonderful and truly amazing! Thank you too both of these comedic genius! Wonderful video...thank you for sharing this!

Although great in its days, it wouldn't cut it today. I'm so blessed to have been around in the 60s & 70's. It's a whole new world now. The innocence, the character, the early joy, and the wholesomeness of these programs are history. What compares to this today.? NOTHING! But I can go back in time by finding these segments and relish the old times.
These two men have taken so much pain away in my life. Even if were only for an hour or two. I grew up in a very abusive environment. When I got to see one of these guys they made me laugh and helped me forget what was going on . Even if it was for a moment
David Telvanni oh Hun me too !! I was abused and alone most of my young life and if only an hour they made me forget!! they were true talent !!! comedy is no longer like these no one could touch there genius!!!! God bless you and I pray for your healing and peace from your abuse!!!!!
The comment right below this! Says the act won't work today! What doesn't work is today's so called music! Rap? Hiphop? Skippity flop!?! Red Skelton, deceased, & Jerry Lewis are two hall-of-fame comedians that are as funny as ever no matter when you watch these two legends! Try an old Danny Kaye movie, & just try to convince me that the movies are not hysterically funny! You'll never convince me of that! Comedy doesn't age! Watch Cary Grant in "Arsenic And Old Lace" from 1944! Wonderful! Bye!
They were both Clown Masters! Arguably none better! Thank you Red and Jerry for the countless hours of laughter you both brought me growing up! My sister and I would be outside playing with friends but when 8 o'clock on Friday night rolled around our mother would holler out the door that The Red Skelton Show was on and no matter what game we might be in the middle of, we'd shout, "See you in an hour! Red's on T.V.!"
Kind of makes you wonder why cable and satellite companies charge you so much for what they offer, when you can go on line and see loads of great nostalgia like this still today
I saw this when it aired! I never thought I'd never see it again. Thanks so much for posting this. Jerry Lewis had a show that started before Red's but on a competing network. My brother was a Red fan but Jerry was the guy to me. We would watch Jerry for a half an hour then switch to Red. Very unusual for a guest to be from another network. Again thanks for posting.
Two legends two of the funniest comedians from different era's of comedy. Love them both! There will never be a person that ever take their place as a power house of laughter. God created 2 amazing men and comedy legends of pure genius
That was clean comedy back then no foul languages no pornography no hate. Just a family oriented, clean, hilarious, and enjoyable comedy. Jerry Lewis was a nerdy comedian that was an act. If someone pay you a lot of 💰 money to play nerdy and silly one will take it. Red Skelton was a genuine genius of laughter comedian my parents and I love to watch Red on TV in the 1970's. During that time America had very great talent, being patriotic, and love to be an American citizen. Today America is nothing more than worthless, filth, pornography, feminism, anti American, anti religious, sexuality, and anti patriotism.
A time when ppl didn't have to be told to laugh, no funny was funny. This man made ppl of all ages laugh, and still can by viewing these old films. He had the greats on stage with him too. I really miss him and the other great comedians.
jerry lewis and red skelton i always loved. What fun and laughter they could bring.Iremember meeting red skelton in dublin where he was a guest of jack cruise,a lovely man with a great feeling for his fellow man,i have been very luckey to meet the really great.
it's because the cable and satelitte comapnies don't own this content the networks do, however they were famous for reruns back in the day, i am wondering why they don't just rerun it again and again and again, greatness never fades
There are many comedians and entertainers out there who are very funny. But Jerry Lewis and Red Skelton were among the earliest I enjoyed, because I found them to be very funny and entertaining to me when I was a young kid, too. Not all great comedians are funny to kids, but these guys are.
I was wonderful to see the world best entertainer's. As Jerry said the master, I wonder if we had Robin Williams, Jerry Lewis and Red Skelton do a skit as an ad lib together what a performance it would be. I would go to the end of the earth to see them perform.
