That being said, the ball bouncing off the outfielder was a double & the base runners advance 2 bases from the time of the pitch. As per the MLB rules that were established. So Red Sox weren't bailed out from that being a bad call in their favor.

The announcers are spitting out stats the entire game in post season. Most often nothing comes of it and so nobody pays attention. The odds are something WILL happen eventually and when it does, suddenly everyone notices.
