i think their concept was never cute it was more like you said quirky. even their debut "happiness" was trippy lol and i really love that they are naturally cute without having to try too hard.

장미 You know cuteness is a genre with hundreds of subgenres, right? Like Red Velvet, Twice, Gfriend, and Black Pink are all cute groups but they have different subgenres. Red Velvet is still very much a cute group (I mean, look at all of the aegyo in this choreography), but they are a type of quirky cute. Just like Gfriend is a powerful cute, and Twice is a cheerleader cute, and Black Pink are a badass cute group. It's all the same umbrella just different sub sections

That's my point. Like I said, if you're doing a cute concept you need something to get the public's attention. Red Velvet uses the cute concept as a base and then they incorporate their quirky and alluring sides that fans adore so much. That makes them stand out. I never denied that they're cute I merely pointed out that they also have many charms that distinguish them from other groups and make them the succesful girl group they are today.

by mna ikr. i mean, Im NOT EVEN A DANCER but i can easily dance to Twice by just watching their live performances a lot Gfriend choreos look hard because it requires a lot of big movements of feet and arms but their choreos seem repetitive now so they get easier for me to learn. SM (to be exact) choreos usually requires a lot of details. I mean, you got a lot of details and then you need to dance on tempo so it is tiring af. It's like comparing BTS and EXO choreos. BTS choreos usually use big movements thats why they are easier to be synchronised and known in earlier days as a sync group while EXO choreos are more detailed so thats why EXO isnt known to be the best at synchronisation. lol. Look at how gfriend being synchronised af during Me gustas tu and Glassbead era, but when Rough came out, Gfriend synchronisation is kinda off because the choreos are more detailed. Thats what usually happen in SM groups lol.

The Violet You're right Gfriend choreography as a whole Is quite easy to learn however there are lots of difficult foot movements and hand movements that people usually forget and that's why most covers of Gfriend aren't that great.

Got 7 Hard carry (jyp) is hard, but i agree. Sm choreos are pretty hard and also fun to learn! I luv Russian roulette sooooooo much!!!!!!

But because I live in a city with a massive Asian population, there's a little ( and extremely busy ) Kpop store within walking distance of my home.
