here's the story behind the mv : the song is based on the first sapphic vampire novel called Carmilla, where a young woman is preyed on by a female vampire who acts innocent and naive to trap the young woman in. The members in the mv are irene and seulgi, the mv started out with seulgi crawling making her seem like she's the monster while irene tried to back away, making irene look vulnerable but at the end you could see irene was on the top of the choreo controlling seulgi meaning that she was just acting all innocent and vulnerable to make seulgi feel like she was in control just to turn the tables and trap seulgi instead. This is just a short and simple explanation i hope it made sense.

Red velvet bad boy ,Really bad boy

Fun thing I like about the dubstep after watching a bajillion reaction videos to this (I have a problem, alright?). Normally, you wouldn't think dubstep would be in a beat like this. It seems out of place. Don't get me wrong, it works, but it still seems out of place. So, my interpretation of the story is the "two personas, one body" situation because of clues in the song and the "Under a single light, why are there two shadows?" line. So, Seulgi goes looking for some fun. Irene is waiting, innocently, for someone to play with. In the first dance position, Seulgi is on top of Irene. Seulgi has control over the monster...for now. Well, as we find out through the music video Irene's goal is to corrupt Seulgi and bounce. Unfortunately for Irene, Seulgi likes it. The dubstep doesn't start happening until right before Seulgi says "I don't hate this madness, I'm having fun". The more Seulgi starts to sing lyrics or do choreography that have her "giving in" to Irene, the more the dubstep occurs. Ex. When they kiss, the dubstep goes harder than it has the entire video and we have those crazy screen flashes and visions. Basically, Seulgi is losing a piece of herself each time she gives in to Irene. When the time comes for Irene to leave, Seulgi tells her to sit the fuck down and puts a gun in her face. When the monster at the end is formed, we have the last bursts of dubstep on ultra high, Seulgi does that crazy dance that almost looks like she's transforming, and now Irene is on top of Seulgi. Seulgi has officially become more monster than herself. The more you watch this video, the more you start to realize how literally everything about this work of art continuously promotes its own story. Love it. My favorite line is "Oh I'm perfect and messed up again". Also, the rent must be due for the backup dancers because they are putting in work.

TL;DR - I love Red Velvet. Thank you for watching them. You should check out Dreamcatcher. One of if not the most unique girl groups in the industry. 7 member girl group. Debuted in 2017. Blend rock into all of their title tracks. Darker concepts (serious, dystopian, and/or spooky). Their debut song "Chase Me" sounds like an anime intro. Latest song, "BEcause", has multiple genres with rock blended in and the music video/choreography has a lot of references to the movie "Us". Appreciate you showing the Red Velvet love! They are my ult group. The vast amount of differing sounds in their discography have helped get me through some rough times. Music is healing sometimes, you know? I just assume everyone went over Red Velvet's concept already. Red and Velvet. Pop-y and dark. They are definitely one of the Big 3 groups for good reasons. Dedicated title track/group concept, absurd vocals, great choreography, and B-side tracks that are all over the fucking place in regards to genres/sounds. Yep. They're known for having B-sides that are sometimes more popular than the title tracks and that's not a slight towards the title track. For real though, they are a crazy good group that has plenty of tunes to get hype or vibe out to. Got to love them. While I'm here though, here's a request (in exchange for a sub and some likes 😋). The group's name is Dreamcatcher. I like them for the same reasons that I love Red Velvet. However, they achieve those things in a drastically different way (for K-pop, that is). They are known for their darker concepts and consistent use of rock in their title tracks. Over time, they moved from pure rock to blending rock in with other genres. 7 member girl group. Debuted in 2017. Have a very dedicated fandom name "InSomnia". You should check out their debut "Chase Me" or their latest title track music video "BEcause". Their earlier stuff was very j-rock inspired so their debut song, "Chase Me", pretty much sounds like an anime intro. "BEcause" actually has 3 different genres in it with segments that have more of a modern day rock sound. All of their music videos are story driven. "Chase Me" is part of a 7 music video long story. The story for "BEcause" is by itself. Speaking of which, the music video story and choreography were inspired by the movie "Us". They play up a doppelganger theme. It's pretty cool.
