I know I'm coming into this really late, but here goes... Re: Monster being based on a lesbian vampire story. Actually that's just a fan theory. As far as I know, there is no official statement confirming the theory. Mostly, I think, it's just the fans wishful thinking. The official concept is that there are 2 egos living within one body and they are struggling against each other for control, both of which consider themselves to be "the monster". If you read the lyrics you'll notice a line about one light casting 2 shadows. If you pay attention to the choreography, the lyrics and some of the other scenes, you will notice that Seulgi is more aggressive while Irene is more subtle. A couple examples of this would be the what I call the string pulling scene where it seems like they are trying to control each other. In the choreography of the scene we see them facing each other, Seulgi raises her hands and we see Irene react. But when Seulgi turns her back, Irene pulls Seulgi's strings from behind, making her react. We see Seulgi coming straight at us with a gun while Irene sneaks up on Seulgi while she is sleeping. So on and so forth. We also see who ultimately wins the battle. At the beginning of the video Irene, Seulgi and the dancers form a monster shape with Seulgi as the head, but at the end, when they form the same monster, Irene is the head, telling us that she wins in the end.
