Fun fact: this song was originally supposed to be by Little Mix. No, this song wasn't their debut. They debuted with 4 members (Irene, Seulgi, Wendy and Joy) in 2014 with Happiness and, in 2015 with Ice Cream Cake, it was Yeri's debut. Also in 2014, they released an MV of "Be Natural" with just the 4 members - there's also a dance performance of this song with just Irene and Seulgi that was released before the debut, but this is content for you to react to the sub-unit (and the solos), which I highly recommend.
Red Velvet is the group that always seems like it was made for me. Like someone at SM knew exactly what I liked, even if I didn't consciously know it myself, and made a group that would produce content that I automatically love. Obviously, I'm not alone in that. I enjoy them immensely, and I will be very sad when they stop promoting together.
Yeah SM was way behind in the subs game, I don't think it was until 2019 that they started adding them 🙄There's usually a reigning "Summer Queens" group, SISTAR were the originals and still the most known for it, but Red Velvet had a good run with Red FLavor - Power Up - Umpah Umpah, and Oh My Girl and Brave Girls were also associated with it more recently! Most groups have at least one strong summer vibes title track in their discography though🐈⬛🐸

I think the Red side is more upbeat, bright and cheerful, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t killing people or each other. Velvet is a more mature, rnb-ish, smooth sound🤔 But it’s not always separated, sometimes it’s both sides together too.
I hate to be THAT person, but DAY6 just had a comeback and will be on Killing Voice tomorrow so I hope that you would check them out. You may know this but they are a band under JYP that debuted in 2015. People have dubbed their discography as having “no skips”, they’re just that good.
Drives me bonkers that you can clearly hear them mention strawberries in the lyrics so many times and none of the 3000 fruits in the video are a strawberry
I love SM groups, but Red Velvet for some reason I cant get completely into. I like a few songs, including this one, but I just dont feel it as much....idk why. This song is huge though. Also Simon reading every single letter and sign hahahhahahhaha
@@riffgroove I dont have a problem with experimental since NCT does the same in that regard. Maybe just Red Velvets way of experimenting is not for me. I guess.

@@riffgroove Hmm... Idk...I started to look into kpop during the pandemic ...so I wasnt around when those 3 comebacks happened or bad boy was released. But I personally my say that I just vibe more with kpop boygroups more than girlgroups. There are only a few I really really like so far. Vocally though Red Velvet is awesome.

@@jihyoshusband Obviously according to SM and all the shows that were attended by the older four members of Red Velvet, they debuted in 2014. BUT they had ALWAYS been meant as a 5-member group and they trained together as such and Yeri had been living in the dorms with them for some time. Irene was a Second Mom to Yeri and basically finished raising her. Yeri caught all kinds of un-deserved hell for debuting with RV almost a year after the other four had already debuted. Full-grown adult bullies and trolls called a freshly-16-year-old kid a Gold Digger and FAR WORSE just because she came into her very much earned and well-deserved spot in the group a little bit later than the rest. NONE of that was HER FAULT but the bullies and trolls attacked a kid anyway. The Company did NOTHING to try to protect a child from the bullying. So, Irene stepped in. Ever piss off a Mama Bear or hear about somebody who did? It does not end well. Irene, this tiny lady, is a MARVELOUS Group Leader and a real Force of Nature. Irene asserted that the 4-member group was not 'complete'. Whether YOU 'can say' or not, in Irene's eyes, Red Velvet had not actually debuted for real until Yeri debuted. NOW they were up to full power and could accomplish anything. All the stuff the older members had done before Yeri's debut was to be considered as more of their 'pre-debut material'. SM was SILENT about the whole thing. After Irene explained it and PUT HER FOOT DOWN to protect her maknae, the trolls also went silent about that particular little twist. In that situation, who is right? If you really have a problem with it, go have that argument with Irene, I dare you. Make sure to record it, I want to see and hear the footage. I'll make popcorn.

Not gonna lie this might be my least favorite RV reaction by you guys. The fact that you don't know the names of the members even in 4 months of reacting to them is saddening. I do get Simon's confusion about the members trying to impersonate themselves as the fruits as that's what the mv makes it look like 😂 also this song is a huge BOP. It was everywhere and also it's Suho's bop along with Russian Roulette.
