People forget Wendy wasn't born and raised in Canada, she moved to Canada when she was in 5th grade->US->Canada->South Korea. She's also the only one that speaks English in her group, the other girls can understand a lot, especially Seulgi and Yeri, but they don't actively speak it. Plus, it's not like she's able to meet with her foreign friends every day to maintain her English, so obviously she might end up losing some fluency. She works really hard to make sure everyone's able to communicate properly.

People are saying that Wendy struggles with her English now and while I think that's quite true, I think she mostly just felt pressured here? Like when the focus is on her she tries to articulate her words well and that just kind makes it difficult. You can tell she's more relaxed when it's not her turn and she speaks more casually and fluently that way, like she's talking to a friend. Regardless, love the interview!

Irene's not even my bias but when they zoomed in for her solo shot while she was explaining the song, I basically died.

Think about when you are panic or nervous, you might not be able to speak or do anything properly, and your brain is just blank out...one of those ppl is Wendy

Well guys u cant judge Wendy if she is doing some mistakes it's okay as u all know she is been in Korea alot of time and how crazy rv schedule is how can u expect from this girl to be fluent in every language like she is human to as we know she does not really have time to talk her foregin friends so this will happen her members can't even speak English she have alot of burden don't compare her to rose or Jennie because u all know bp have 3 English speaker so they can mantain there accent but for Wendy it well be difficult because known of her members have any accent right now and I still proud of my bae how she mantain the interview even though if u noticed casual she is fluent but when the focus will be on her she got confused because now she is not that use to speak English that much hope fully wendy will be fluent again now redmare USA canada is began💙

As a bilingual speaker , it’s so hard to translate one language to another . Not to mention how much pressure Wendy must’ve felt , she did a great job for someone who mostly speaks in korean now and doesn’t really get the chance to speak English . I loved this interview 🌸

I think Wendy was just nervous. When it comes to day to day conversation with friends i don't think it's an issue at all for her. She's usually stuck even from the very last time whenever there's an interview to be done in english. Because she's been very close with the members too whom all conversed in Korean mostly, it's normal to lose fluency over time. Her pronunciation is fine tho.
