Growing up in the decades before Stonewall, where gay characters were seen briefly, either as the villains or the comedic relief, when movies couldn't even use the word "homosexual," and a man's orientation was indicated by a silent limp wrist, it was stunning to FINALLY have a silly cheesy romance with a happy ending. These types of stories are a dime-a-dozen in the straight world, when classic movies of any genre would have the hero might a nice girl and sometimes before they knew each other's names they were deep in love. When every Disney-type children's cartoon ended with the heroine with her prince charming living happily ever after - even in the canine world of Lady & The Tramp. I am like many who have become obsessed (in the nicest way) and have watched it again and again and again, along with every reaction video, interview, and blooper reel. Never would I have expected to have seen such a movie reaching commercial success. Thanks for your review.
