Copper rough n’ tough Iron Rangers. They’re great, considered iconic/quintessential for a reason- the end.
Sizing- go down 1/2 to full size from Brannock
based on preference. I went down from 9.5D to 8.5D since I prefer snugger fits.

I just had bedo’s put some christy soles on my iron rangers last week. Now they are all day walking boots. Before I’d be in pain by the end of the day from the hard soles. Now they are perfect.

I don’t get the clown shoe critique. The toe box really isn’t that wide. They’re gorgeous and your patina is enviable. Enjoy

I've noticed over the course of 6 months my iron rangers have gotten so soft the uppers can be rolled up into a ball. Yours look much stiffer. Is this the case?

I condition sparingly with mine, if they’re bone dry and a brushing doesn’t rejuvenate it I’ll touch it up with some bick 4. I do that as needed, maybe once or twice a year depending on how hard I’ve been wearing them. Mine are soft tempered but I wouldn’t say they’re that soft- are yours copper rough and tough as well?

@@harkerleatherworks yes, I too have CRT Iron Rangers. I'm not saying I dislike it. I love these boots!

Has the mini-lug sole gotten thinner in recent Iron Rangers? I know the Nitrile soles were thicker, but I believe your's are perhaps 10% thicker than what they use now.... Yes, the patina has developed nicely, handsome pair of shoes.

I regret getting the copper, the color is nice but the leather always feels and looks dry even after conditioning. I’ll probably just darken mine to hell with obenauf’s haha.

Just use a conditioner that has a bit of bee wax or mink oil in it. It will give the leather just a bit of a shine and won' t darken it too much.

I've worn mine for 7 years. If you're using a conditioner with mink oil, use it really sparingly. I will recommend using Redwing's leather cream. Getting too dark on the CRT will affect how the patina will form in years to come...CRT is the best boot for those patine in which, only time will tell.

What did you do to get the tongue's so dark? I have the same boots and would like to do the same. Looks great!

Those are kilties, actually! I got them from this fellow on Instagram. A single set is $25, or $20 apiece for two IIRC. instagram.com/nerdin_with_boots?

Looking at the wear of your soles, it looks like you didn´t wear them too much, is that so?
@harkerleatherworks
@harkerleatherworks 2 года назад
the compound that vibram outsole is made of is pretty tough wearing, I’ve probably got a couple hundred hours in them
@thehunt226
@thehunt226 2 года назад
@@harkerleatherworks Interesting, mine look way more worn, I have about the same mileage in them... But I have the older cork nitrile-version.

What type of cleaning/conditioning do you do to them?
@harkerleatherworks
@harkerleatherworks 2 года назад
I just wipe down with a damp rag as necessary, and then buff with a horsehair brush- the leather doesn’t need much in the way of conditioning because of the wax content. If it’s looking bone dry I use some bick 4 which won’t darken the hide.

what's the deal with the sizing down, they run big or something?
@harkerleatherworks
@harkerleatherworks 2 года назад
Yeah Iron Rangers run large, most people go a half to full size down from their sneaker size.

You either walk on clouds or weigh 32 lbs I have smoked my heels in a year but go ahead
@harkerleatherworks
@harkerleatherworks 2 года назад
Closer to two hundred haha, I’ve put a lot of miles in these. Probably just boils down to differences in our gait, everybody’s got a different walking pattern- I don’t have any issues with overpronation/supination and try to be mindful of heel drag.
