My Hiker overland trailer has a Dexter 3500 with brakes . I have yet to weigh the trailer but I’m guessing around 1700-2100 . I went old school compared to your set up , running a Reese Pilot controller. With the cj pulling it I have it set on 2.5-3.5 and it stops great . Just wait until one brake gets out of adjustment and it pulls to one side , it will manhandle the Jeep when stopping. I had to readjust my brakes at 1500 miles on my new axle . Where yours would shine would be off road in the proportional mode . I have to dial mine way down to prevent the trailer wheels from locking up in loose dirt .
I took mine to the scales the day after filming this video. Ended up the LJ is 4900lbs and the trailer is 1760lbs (without water and gas). I’m excited to have brakes on the setup. The trailer really would push the Jeep when stopping. The two different modes are really neat. I doubt I’ll ever use the old school setup (green mode). I really do like proportional once it’s calibrated.
