Learn from what I did in 2022. Make money and build a TeePublic store with their top designs. If you haven't started TeePublic yet here is my referral link: tee.pub/lic/detourshirts
What stands out the most in this video, aside from its valuable information, is the honesty regarding sales and profits. It's a refreshing change from the numerous RU-vid video creators promising things like "Make $21,047 a month with POD." While it might be a bit discouraging, as I initially considered making POD my primary source of income, it also keeps expectations realistic. Perhaps by exploring multiple income streams, I can still break free from the traditional rat race, even though it involves a significant amount of effort (which makes it a rat race again, of a sort 🤷🏽♂️). Regardless, I appreciate your hard work and transparency. 🙏😎
I have been on Merch, Redbubble and Teepublic since May. I have sales on Merch and Redbubble but never on Teepublic. I have a variety on design styles on all three.
Are your designs showing on the search function? Test it by making the name of your item unique and searching for it, if you don't find it you're not on the search function and you can only find your stuff by following a direct link. It's a well known issue with them and loads of people have had to shut/reopen stores or be referred by someone to ACTUALLY have designs shown on the catalog not just in your store front. I recently took my store with 100 designs down after 6 months because I didn't make a single sale (people usually follow my merch/bubble links instead) and teepublic kept saying they weren't adding me to the catalog, instead they kept giving me links to learn promotion which I already do on 3 social media platforms. Frustrating doesn't cut it but merch by amazon is 10x better than teepublic anyway and much the same audience base
Really helpful information, Juna! Thank you for sharing your experience with these platforms. Have you ever done a comparison between two similar designs on different platforms like this video with how you market them via Pinterest or ads? I just wonder what platform people would prefer to shop from? Is it the design they are after, the quality, or is price the bottom line?
Great suggestion! I actually don't market them for RedBubble or TeePublic..... at least I don't do it often... I may post something here and there on twitter or pinterest but not enough to make a big difference
Thank you Juna, I able to get one sale at Teepublic still fiddling out the best niches. Thank you for encouraging us. Kindly make a video for Valentines day
I wish I would have been able to build something on Teepublic. My store got terminated so many times in the beginning in 2020. Id get in contact with them, they’d say they made an error and give it back then months later do it over. All I’d post is evergreen for the most part. Nothing too controversial. I’ve been trying to slowly upload to them but I also hear people don’t see their designs a lot.
Sorry to hear that... not sure why that is happening... I hope they resolve things like this..... I don't see my designs in search too but somehow I still get sales.
Thanks for yet another awesome video! Do you ever experiment with markups on stickers on RedBubble? I started with the default 20% or so and gradually increased the markup. I'm currently at 110% markup and I'm wondering how high I can go with the markup on stickers?
Hey, Juna. I'm a beginner in the POD thing. I made 10 designs 2 months ago but I've got no sales. you mentioned in this video you made 1010 t-shirt designs for Teepublic and 1097 t-shirt designs for Redbubble Are they different? or did you add some t-shirts for Redbubble? Did you post the same designs on both websites? I feel I'm struggling a lot to make ONE design due to thinking a lot about how the design will be. Generating ideas, getting shapes or fonts. All that stuff kills my time. Do you have any video plans about my issue. Plus I need a video showing the difference between Redbubble, Teepublic, Teespring, and Amazon,. I need a video showing the difference in design types each website wants.
@DetourShirts Can I send you some of my designs? I need your opinion. I'm new and I'm stuck to design only one design. Sometimes It takes too long\, about a day to make one design. Sometimes I think of something then I do something else that comes to my mind, as a modification. Is that natural? Did you begin slow in your early days of designs? Or am I the only one who feels stuck?
Super helpful, Juna. Would appreciate if you could make a video on the kind of designs TP likes. I bulk deleted scaled and low key designs from my store today and have requested them to consider making my designs searchable. Let's see what happens..I know TP has great potential but I'm not sure what kind of designs are suitable for TP. So if you could kindly make a video on that, it would be immensely helpful. Thanks 😊
Great video! I have a question, can I upload the same designs to Redbubble and TeePublic? I noticed you said that TeePublic are owned by RedBubble so just checking this wouldn't cause a problem to have same designs on 2 platforms. Thanks!
Hey Juna, thanks for the amazing and informative videos you create! I really appreciate your efforts and wish you the best of luck. I have a question, how can I know the type of designs that will sell well on a certain platform? I mean is there a type of design that will sell on Amazon but won't on Redbubble? How can I know? I hope you can understand me because English is not my first language 😅, and thank you again.
Hi great videos and tips. In the end of the video you show 1097 and 1010 designs. Was it your option or you couldn't upload the same number of designs on both???
Great question.... yeah I uploaded to RedBubble a lot more in the beginning and I'm trying to catch up with my TeePublic ones.... I don't upload them at the same time.
I have consumed a lot of videos from various RU-vidrs on topics related to Red Bubble, yet I have not came across one addressing some questions that I have. Some designs use a year as part of the design. This is evergreen if it is something such as "Born in 1987" or "Circa 1987," but what about the ones that are not evergreen. Designs such as New Years 2022 or Christmas 2021. Any number of holiday or event themed designs that has the current year on it. Should designs like these be kept in the shop? If they made sales then how die sit affect your shop negatively to remove it later on? You cannot count on future sales for a product that isn't relevant. If it does affect your shop negatively, to what extent? If you made no sales or just one or two, is it worth it to keep 30 to 100 designs that do use the previous year as part of the design? It feels like it can get to a point that when someone looks thru, they have to skip past a lot of irrelevant designs to find new product. If we did make sales can we bypass the negative impacts of deleting the product by locking the design and then deleting any that did not make sales? I am just at a loss with how to handle this and I cannot seem to find anyone discussing it.
I would delete designs that have an old year that no one would buy if you have the time to do so.... birthday or birth year shirts are okay but Christmas 2021 will probably get no more sales going forward...hope that helps
@@DetourShirts thank you for replying to me. In fact, im new to POD 3 month until now on redbubble following your instructions. I made 20 sales which not big but im happy with it. At the same time i realised that my designs does not show on teepublic even after i send them an email. Any way thank you so much for your efforts.
Thanks for this video, I want to ask a question that can i upload same 1 DESIGN on both redbubble and on teepublic? Means that if i make 1 design and i can up load it on both
Everyone saying their accounts are getting suspend without no reason, now I am afraid to open shop on this sites. Wt is ur thoughts? should i open shop?
So many influencers boast about the Passive Income power of POD. I am just curios if you are continuing to add to these platforms or if the majority of your sales came from prior years time investments? Thanks!
The affiliate links are awesome. I am going to try to make videos and ads this year, so, that will be awesome, too. Do you have a video, showing how to upload to TeePublic?
thank you very much for all great information. You said on your video if we want to post the work of other artists we can find the best seller images on teepublic. Can you tell me how please
You upload same design on teepublic and redbubble? Can i upload same design on redbubble and teepublic with different store name and different email? Lots of love from Nepal ❤❤
I am facing a problem in redbubble , could not verify my phone number i.e. did not receive sms code saying error. Could you please help me in this regard
I wonder if you have the same designs in both teepublic and Redbubble stores. I had started teepublic when I did for Redbubble but as I was sandboxed I had to leave but Redbubble is working awesome for me I wanna know if it's okay to upload my selling Redbubble designs into teepublic??
Wow man ur totally killing it in Teepublic. For me Teepublic is also better than redbubble in terms of sales but i am no where near u lol. My best pay was 300$ on Dec other than that its just minimal earnings. Do you upload multiple designs in one niche or multiple designs in different niches ?
I applied for Amazon Merch about a year ago and was turned down. Any pointers on how to reapply? I am very happy for you on your successful past year. I wish you much success in 2023. I have a RedBubble for my t-shirt business. You have inspired me to join Teepublic as well. Am with Zazzle and Teespring/Spring already. Thanks for all the info and motivation!
I would suggest you just keep plugging away on the other POD shops for a little while and build up your portfolio.... then try again in a month or so.... try to reapply at different times of the month....maybe at the beginning and next time at the end... it's all mostly like and timing.... good luck
Thanks Juna for this video. Any tips on getting accepted into the affiliate program? I'm not getting accepted. Do they require a certain minimum of social followers and web traffic to get accepted into the program?
great tip on the TP affiliate links, logging in to TP right now and put all the bestsellers on page 1 in my store, lol; not really, but what if everyone would do that ?
Hey! Can you upload the same designs on Teepublic and Amazon Merch or would they block them if they detect the designs are on the other store? Still new to this ... thanks!
Well i learned the hard way... If you make any designs expressing pro conservative values or individuals..... Not only will that design get flagged your store will get shut down ..... Can anyone explain why the justified bias?
Does Teepublic Stop the affiliate program, I was following one of your videos (RedBubble vs TeePublic Income in 2022 Plus The Lessons I Learned) and wanted to sign up for the affiliate program and it was not there. By the way I'am new with teepublic and I dont like the tittle they gave me (apprentice) is that bad.
That is Ok. Can you make a video on placeit and the image resizing feature it has I have not seen on any video, I just out of curiosity stumble on it, It will be good to have a video to follow to.
QUESTION: I'm fairly new to RB with only about 50 items posted. Most of these are more text-based designs. But I have a large catalog of previously created original SF/Fantasy art pieces that I want to upload. My question is, should I just add these original art pieces to my current works (in their own category), or should I create a new store featuring my original art works? My thinking is the text-based designs kind of clash with the relative coolness of the original art. Thanks!
Either works.... It's easier to add it to the existing store.... I personally wouldn't do a new store unless you really know you will get sales.... running 2 stores is a lot tougher.
What do you think of AI art? Are places like RB and Teepublic safe to put AI art on their platforms? I have heard that Amazon may be removing designs that are AI art? Then, I see that people do sell AI art on there, and they aren’t getting banned. I am going to start a TP store and I would like to try zazzle and many more. As an artist, AI art scares me, but I have embraced it, some, anyway. I got some fantastic images from the Canva “text to image” AI art.
Have you completed the whole process , from banner , logo , link to redbubble store etc. I had the same issue and it took 3 times of emailing them and finally got them added
Do u advice with paid tools to get more sales???...I have more than 280 designs on redbubble wz only 5 sales...although I concerned with tags and low competition designs....
I think it can help if you already have a good foundation.... I would look at your designs first. Make sure you are creating designs that people will want to wear.... tools can help you with direction, knowing what to design and what keywords to use but you will still need to create a good design to start
Can you PLEASE HELP me with Redbubble. I have my own artwork and I uploaded my 5 to start, confirmed my bank and email, could never get my shop to show up live. I work on iPad Pro, next thing I know, I was sent an email saying I was banned. No idea what button I hit they they did not like or was it the back and forth. I sent in a case but that was 2 months ago, noting. 😢 I am not a bot, it is my own artwork so I am confused what the problem was other then hitting the buttons back and forth. I am very sad hope you can help.
thanks for that affiliate info, im new to TP but also have found it better/ more sales than RB. good to know about the affiliate sales commission. :) im going to try that
I create my redbubble store uploaded like 6 designs and after like 3 days or something i still cant see them on my profil on redbubble ? Are they verifying the designs or i missed something during my store creation? Thanks in advance dude !
i contacted teepublic they are not making my store visible if anybody search for it. They said its because of SEO reasons. Any advice how can i sell in tee public ?
If you make a design for TeePublic you can also sell it on RedBubble.... and vice versa... unless it is for a Fan Art Program that the other doesn't have.
Oh no.... I'm not exactly sure what it could be but I would check copyright/trademarks first.... if it's not that then email the POD site to find out why
I just started a tee public page but none of my products are searchable on the site. When I inquired they responded with info about using social media to drive traffic. Any advice for getting my work searchable on the site?
I wish I knew.... the thing is I still get sales even though I can't find my designs in search.... I really think it's random... maybe some see the designs and some don't or maybe some days you see it and some days you don't.... I think I'll test it and make a video
@@DetourShirts thanks. Since my note to you, I also found that they pulled down a number of my designs based on trademark issues. One of them was the word football creatively laid out typographically, and the other one was a black and white graphic I created of a hand holding up a red card, how on earth are those trademarked. Lol!
Everyone is different but I actually make more with TeePublic than I did with Etsy.... Etsy had so many fees and returns that I made only like $200 a month
hi juna, i believe i joined the teepublic affiliate but i cant see my link to share the link its not turning yellow when i click on the design I want to affiliate share. So I double checked if i signed up and it said this account affiliate exist So i don't know what to do
Both Of Redboubble or Teepublic are passive sell without marketing? I mean it that can i get sell Teepublic uploading design auto search engine traffic?
Thank you for this. I started my redbubble bc of this video a couple of days ago but the few items I posted says my account is restricted. Is that normal for new accounts? I tried to look it up but it's not a lot of info. It's been almost a week.
