Just added this to my gen 8 love it! Putting each screw took about 30 minutes since they were difficult to put in

Great video. It’s as a big help. One problem, my reverse lights don’t come on at all. I’ve heard others have a similar issue, but I don’t understand anything about how to trouble shoot the problem. I hope I’ll be able to fix it.

I work for RadioShack in Newland NC and we just became a Redcat dealer and i just bought my 1st crawler the Gen8 Scout ll. i wanted the Axe Edition but they are out till feb.

Just installed the kit in my gen 8 axe. This video was very helpful so thank you for taking the time to make it. Only improvement of product would be if it could be easily controlled from the 3rd channel to turn them on and off, but I'm working on trying to figure that out : )

Just got this kit for my gen 8 and excited to install it. I have a question thou, do both servo y connectors need to be plugged in for power? Since I am not running signal lights can I only use one y connector to connect the esc for brake/reverse signal and power? My thought is just less wire to try tidy up and less connections for water to invade. Awesome products! Stay safe n keep the greasy side down guys ✌ So I installed the light kit without the y connector for steering servo and all works proper. Had to remove k4 jumper since reverse lights came on in forwards. Must say it is a much neater install without the extra wire to tie up. Awesome product! Just waiting for the sun to set to try these bad boy lights out!

Awesome light kit! Any recommendations for a set of wheelwell rock lights? Maybe a plug in adapter to use with the bumper lights? Jus a thought... Long live the Scout☠!

Thank you I got a used gen 8 and the idiot had the lights wired wrong, somehow he had it when you turn left the brake lights came on and when you turn right the reverse lights came on and your video helped me rewire it

A light kit with warm white led's would be verry cool. Also redcat should be more available in the netherlands, i had to buy a gen 8 for 400 euro's. Scale crawling is getting more popular over here, so when the price drops to the U.S. price, i think there would be a pretty good market for the gen 8. Its a awesome car

If you have a 3 or more channel transmitter and receiver can the lights be turned on an off from the transmitter or are they always on when driving?

Hello, are the LED clips for Gen8 included in the LED kit?

So I wired up my Gen8 V2 as shown and in the manual wire guide, with power I get lights, servo, and esc beeps on but only flashes red, no throttle/motor at all.

Can you add a light bar to this setup

i just installed a pre rigged up light kit on my redcat shredder and i got headlight, blinkers, forward running light and reverse lights working however the brake lights only come on when i punch it oddly.

Will p3 or p4 run a led light bar?

With gen 7 pro is the same? Thanks

I had an odd thing happen with mine. The top right taillight is out, but the top left (which it’s wired through the first one) works. I’ve been playing it off as “it’s an old truck, it’s fine” but it’s still odd

I just got the shredder best investment ever I also got the lights for half price but no clips or anywhere th put the lights without putting holes in the body any ideas out there

Just got it and can not get the brake lights to work at all and I follwed the instructions to a tee. Tried all jumper settings, can only get to work backwards.

Anyone happen to know if this kit is plug and play on the Scout gen9?

Does the light kit come with the wires needed to plug it in to the receiver on truck so it has communication with the esc and servo or are those sold separately

I followed the steps and had some issues, first of all some of the lights didn't work when I tested them prior to connecting them. Second: my esc (it's all stock red cat stuff) blinks red quickly and the controller does nothing. Can't steer or go in forward or reverse

Okay, I’ve followed your instructions correctly (I think), but now I have no throttle. Did I do something wrong, or do I have another component going out?

FYI, the instructions for the jumpers are incorrect. Just received my kit this week and noticed that the instructions for the K2 jumper are incorrect. The options for the K2 jumper are reversed of what they should be. If you want to have the taillights at 50% when brake lights are not on, then the jumper should be removed. If you want to have the LEDs off unless the brake lights are on, keep the jumper in place. I will have to echo Keith Remmem's comment about 3rd channel control of the lights. Would have been a nice option to be able to turn the light kit on and off via the 3rd channel. I'm working on a solution for this as well. But, I'm also trying to see if it's possible to retain the reverse lights functionality when the rest of the lights are off. May not be possible. Also, it would be nice to have the option to have both the upper and lower taillights at 50% when brakes aren't applied. The lower LEDs are rather bright and actually look like brake lights already, but are the running lights. Again, something I'm going to try and remedy myself.

Your a week late on this video, some of your installation suggestions would have definitely helped.. Lol one thing on my brushless set-up is that the reverse lights don't come on unless the truck moves backwards at a pretty good clip.

Why wouldn’t it be designed to have the turn signal and reverse lights work with the transmitter? Would have given you everything you need in a light kit......smh

I appreciate your videos and follow your channel, but in this case I think you make this thing look WAY easier and friendlier that really is. A little misleading.
