Hey, Thanks for the kind words! We appreciate it as we start out on this new journey of RU-vid. We have a number of exciting hunts planned for this coming season, and are planning to do a number of gear videos along the way. Let us know if there is something you would be interested in seeing! Really excited for the rest of 2024!
You did an excellent job on the video. Letting everyone see what it's really like out in the Alaska wilderness. Moose hunting is tough and the walking is terrible. I guided moose hunters on the south side of the Brooks Range many years ago so I know exactly what you went through. I'm glad you have decided to come back for another hunt, don't give up.
Good stuff. I find myself looking at the landscape shots to see if you were in the same area we've been hunting. Just finished the film of our second trip hunting moose in Alaska. It's a lot of work but so worth having that visual journal. Well done fellas!
looks like a good trip even if there were no moose. That area is pretty thin moose population and is hunted pretty hard. but moose are shot every year off that river, you had a better chance out there then home on the couch!
It was an amazing trip - even with such a low population of moose in the area. We learned a lot, which is key to future success. We did hear of a few resident hunters that took some smaller bulls (different size requirements than us non-residents) as well as the non-resident guys we met who took the smaller (yet legal) bull on the river.
Curious what your rifle/rings/scope setup is that had issues? Might look into degreasing all your screws and using loctite/nail polish/paint pen when you retorque. Also what kind of rafts? Thanks, looks like a good time!
Thanks! We used the GoPro Hero 11 for most of it, with some iPhone footage. This year we have a number of hunt’s planned and are currently looking at fixing up our mic setup to improve the audio in the future, as well as some other camera options for more shot options than the GoPro can offer.
I just got the kuiu pack system. I can't believe after receiving it how many other packs I see on youtube where it looks so sloppy when walking. The lids looks like slop and the bag looks like it has a mind of its own when on the back. Damn. They are quite expensive too.
Unfortunately all good packs come with a price tag. KUIU are good packs, but if you get them too large and don’t have the gear to fill them then ya they do feel a bit sloppy. We try and compress them tight when not full. There are a few other really good packs out there - some we definitely would like to try and give our thoughts on.
It is the Seek Outside - Redcliff Light. Highly Recommended! We also have a Seek Outside - 8P Tipi. If anyone is interested in a comparison video let us know!
