The story of Daniel Ricciardo in the Monaco Grand Prix it's unique. Monaco is the place where every Formula 1 driver wants to win more than anywhere. The streets of the Monaco Grand Prix saw to Daniel Ricciardo flying in his Red Bull Formula 1 car to be on Pole Position two times, during the 2016 and 2018 Monaco Grand Prix. The story of this two years ended in a very different way. Daniel Ricciardo lost the 2016 Monaco Grand Prix after a human mistake during the tyres change. Two years later, in the 65th Monaco Grand Prix, he is looking for the revenge. The redemption day for Daniel Ricciardo in the streets of Monaco.

Yeah, chills every time. Just because of the modern day saga of Ricciardo vs Red Bull vs Monaco I believe this is the only race I've seen 4 times. Such potential moving forward for McLaren. I was already hyping them and think another Monaco win shouldn't be written off

No titles will be won by any other team as long as Mercedes are in the sport. Hope they leave in 2022. Respect for them being insanely dominant but cmon, ruining the whole sport for the past 7 years. It’s all because of Schumacher and Brawn building the foundations, then Toto and Nikki really boosted everything.

Its even crazier when u realize his loss of power was in lap 28 of a 78 lap race. He defended that lead for 50 laps with only ab 75% of the cars power. Incredible.

What made Red Bull's 2016 error worse was that at the previous race in Spain, Danial was leading but was put on the inferior three stop strategy, forcing him back to fourth and giving Max the win. In what has been his best season, he should have had three wins, not one.

His tire blew even on the three stop. Max was simply better that time around. His tire management at 18 years old after being tossed into a new car with near 0 practice was something to behold.

@@theglitch312 iirc his puncture was caused by debris not due to the tyres giving way, Daniel was leading the race and should have been given the best strategy on the other side though Ferrari did the same thing with Vettel. Max won sure but it wasn't because he was the faster driver that time round the thing i find funny though is people say Max would have won in 2018 if he hadn't put it in the wall in 3rf prac but there was no indication that would have been the case, its the opposite actually Daniel led every practice session then led every quali session then nursed a car home that could have died any second, he was in a class of his own that weekend.

2:19 Kinda reminds me of Vettel and Hamilton in Canada 2019. Although its not 100% the same situation it is kinda weird that there was no penalty for Hamilton, but one for Vettel

Was thinking the same. It's a very similar incident. Leader makes a mistake, cuts the chicane and pushes 2nd place guy into the wall. Hamilton should have seen the black/white flag for this at the very least

Loved this, Danny ricc is a fantastic driver but has really not been able to get back on his feet with Renault or Mclaren, would be glad to see him on a team he genuinely likes and thrives on

Will never forget what christian Horner said before this race on the Netflix doco. Even with what happened to Dani Ric and that pit stop which cost him the win Horner was still favouring Max. And he still had the nerve to attack his character when he decided to leave.

Something I never understood about this race. I had only been watching F1 for a year, and I remember that it was almost assumed that Daniel would win Monaco before they even got there. He hadn't won any races up till the Monaco race, but the week before all the commentators where talking about him like he's already won it. Why was that?

Riccardo really specialises in tracks with heaps of precise turns and cuts, so he benefits greatly in races like Monaco as that’s what’s going to get him the win. When he was racing with Red Bull, thats what their cars specialise in as well, designing them to be able to handle the constant acceleration and deceleration, so pairing Red Bull and Riccardo was pretty much the winner. Hamilton is really good at gaining and maintaining as much speed and cutting time in long straight tracks which is why he’s often a winner, which is more of the traditional style of racing, which Mercedes also specialise their cars in. (Correct me if I’m wrong, new fan!)

I understand him, because he joined Renault, but that made him very slow (comparing the 2018 season), I don't know if he will get a victory at McLaren, but if he does I will be very happy for him! (Sorry for bad English, I converted, from Portuguese to English)
