They are so so good. Hongjoong actually produces/composes a lot of their music. I love the rap line but please don’t sleep on the rest, the vocal lines are also very very amazing . The translations were there if you missed it, but ATEEZ lyrics are always on point. Hongjoong, He’s an ACE. This is actually one of the least aggressive choreos that Ateez has lmao I hope you guys get to them more often so you can get a good sense of how they are since they’re known amongst the community and other idols for their performance skills. They do have an ongoing storyline and for you to get a sense of what’s going on you’d kind of have to start from the beginning (they’re only about 3 years old so it’s not like a whole 7 year back story). But go from Pirate King, Say My Name, Hala Hala, Wave, Wonderland, Answer, Inception, and then Fireworks
2:08, that’s Hongjoong the leader, rapper, and composer. I recently started getting into Ateez and they keep surprising me. I’ve never heard the kind of music they provide in k-pop. All their MVs (at least ones I’ve watched so far) have been amazing musically and the production is always top level.
Ateez has an on going story line with the hour glass ..but also in the choreo there are moves from past choreographies to give fans the feeling of deja vu.. Ateez is known for choreo and performances.
I don’t know if you’ve watched any Ateez MVs before but they have a very strong concept and a very long storyline to the music videos. They let us fans vote on which song out of the two will become the actual title track but they still release the 2 songs together which is cool. So like for their debut they debuted with pirate king and treasure. Then their next comeback was say my name and Hala Hala Then they came back with illusion and wave Then wonderland (this one was a solo release) and then answer (solo release) Then the double comeback track came back with inception and thanxx Then we hit this recent album with deja vu and eternal sunshine (this mv isn’t released yet) Ok now the members . First rapper @ 2:05 is hongjoong (leader, composer) Second rapper with the deep voice is mingi @ 2:17 The vocalist who opened up the song @ 1:02 is yunho u have San @ 1:09 Who is a vocalist as well. U have wooyoung vocalist & 1:15 U have yeosong, a vocalist @ 1:21 (he also has a really low deep voice as well but he’s a singer so don’t mix him with deep voice rapper mingi 😂) Then seonghwa, vocalist @ 1:28 u have our maknae jongho vocal king @ 1:46 (he’s the one who hits most of the high notes) he wasn’t able to participate in the actual dance scenes for this mv unfortunately. They have a whole long as story line like most groups, they always end their mv’s with a spoiler of the next comeback song at the end. And their story line is kind of in different eras.

I actually just watched your dreamcatcher reactions yesterday and now ateez?! they're both 2 of my favorites! Actually, I see that you have a Rocky poster on your wall. Ateez have a song called Rocky in their new album (Zero: Fever Part 3). There isn't an mv tho. But that song is insane, almost exactly how I would imagine a song called Rocky to sound. So happy you reacted to them. One of my favorite groups… Hongjoong and Mingi are the rappers. They are one group you definitely want to check out their dance practices cause you miss so much in the MV’s and they are crazy good dancers. I Kinda agree deja vu is an average kpop song, but it’s not really like they’re other songs. But I love the whole thing put together. This was a cool reaction. It's interesting to hear opinions from people jumping in entirely blind as far as knowing the group and anything about them. If you haven't already, I would suggest listening to the song with headphones too because one thing Ateez/the edenery team behind their music does really well is how they layer their vocals and instrumentals. They really fill out their sound in interesting ways. Unconventional instruments, sometimes strange sounds (like sirens, water droplet sounds, etc.) In this song there's this sort of techy sounding thing in the background which really fits with the high-tech feel of the video. Their beats and sounds are so different and varied. I hope you guys will check out more. I would suggest, as others have said, starting from the beginning with their twin debut songs Pirate King and Treasure. I know one or more of you were interested in their storyline and I will say Ateez, more than any other group I stan or follow, manages to bring their storyline into *everything*. Mvs, albums, stages, etc. They've even discussed some of it during their comeback showcases. I feel like with a lot of groups the storyline is there but not always at the forefront but not so with Ateez. At the same time, you don't really HAVE to know about it to enjoy the music. Like most songs you can take them as you want and that's their intention. But if you do want to learn about the storyline it adds this whole new layer of enjoyment. Their storyline is super intense and interesting. I was reading what's written in the albums almost like a book I couldn't put down. Then when they performed during the Kingdom competition they brought it there too and it was just so neat and different. Anyway, glad you seemed to enjoy this and subscribing in hopes of more Ateez soon maybe! :)
If you want to see how hard they go in, they perform IKONs-Rhythm Ta on a reality tv show and that performs remains one I continue to rewatch. It’s crazy good and hype.

It's interesting seeing people use Deja Vu as their first look at ATEEZ considering its quite different from their OG sound. I would recommend Say My Name, Hala Hala to see their earlier work - both songs go hard af - as well as Wonderland (arguably their most popular TT) and Answer (one of their most highly acclaimed TTs). As others have said, there's a huge storyline behind the MVs - the cool thing is if you watch in order you can get a loose grasp and understand it without deep diving into their lore lol. Hope you look into ATEEZ more! Easily one of the groups to look out for in the future!

You definitely need to react to their videos in order. They're all related to their storyline, so it can be confusing if you don't know already. All the scenes in the video are places they filmed previous videos as well as having specific elements to their storyline, which gives the audience Deja Vu. The hourglass is major in their storyline. the last clip was a preview to their next video.
