Objection on Sam and Amelia as "the only ship" of the season. Come on, what about Megstiel? Dean even mentions the ship name! It was short lived but adorable.
Season 8 recap, let's gooo 🥳 Once again long comment incoming: Here my choices for the awards (please everyone don't take offense if you disagree)... Fave episode of the season: I think it's 8×17 for me. (though 8×07 and 8×02 are relatively close) Like your choice though. I had already quite a couple on my fave list, but somehow it's even more on this watch 8×02 | 8×07 | 8×08 | 8×09? | 8×10? | 8×11 | 8×17 | 8×19? | 8×20 | 8×21? | 8×22?? | 8×23 No eps from my top 10 of the show this season, but a lot of top eps nonetheless. Favourite scene: I've got quite a couple 🤔 but I'm going for the "We need you. I need you" scene in 8×17 (though the angels falling is a look) Most heart breaking scene: the Charlie and Dean scene in 8×20 when they were in the djinn dream (Benny's safcrifice in 8×19 was close for me though) Funniest scene: it's something in the larping episode. Favourite kiss: agree. Charlie and Gilda take this one. Favourite kill: taking the angel bullet in 8×21 Favourite quote: going with Cas' "You dob't understand. I need pie." in 8×22. (close second for "he was my gay thing" 😆) Favourite case: I'm going with Bobby's rescue. Favourite monster: vampire. (shoutout Benny) Favourite ship: still... Destiel is my poison so... it's Cas and Dean for me. Favourite friendship: I'm giving it to Cas & Dean once again, I have to. Least favourite character: I do agree with what you said, but I'm going with Naomi Most underrated character: giving it to Benny, even though he isn't really underrated I guess Favourite character: Castiel. Not a question for me. He is the reason I started the show and I absolutely love Misha, so gotta go for Cas, even though he still wasn't as much in the season as I'd have liked. Crowley is a good pic too though. Mark Sheppard did a great job. On this watch I actually considered switching 5 and 8 as I had marked down before, but I decided to leave it as it was so 8 is still my fave season. There are arguable points for other seasons so I do totally get it, but I get the most consistent enjoyment from this one. My personal season ranking at this point: 8>5>4=6>7>2>1>3 Sorry s1-3, but no Misha in a season automatically puts you lower than a season with him. good recap. I still find them almost impossible and think it is cool you do them. If I had to, As Time Goes By would be my favorite episode and Southern Comfort/Bitten tied for least favorite.
To call the scene between Dean and Sam a brotherly moment is to completely miss the point. Spoiler After 8 seasons of letting each other down, breaking up and making up, betraying trust and hurting each other, Dean lets Sam know that he and only he is the most important person in Dean's life, and that will never change. It's a commitment made in a church on sacred ground in front of a witness (Crowley). Sam gets what he needs, reassurance that he is the most important person to Dean, and Dean will get what he needs, Sam's commitment to their life together. No more running away.
Charlie has only been in three eps at this point. Pac-Man Fever gave us some good friendship moments between Dean and Charlie, but it's not an ongoing thing where Dean and Charlie connect with each other all the time. Sam and Dean have a deep bond which transcends their struggles. It's still a close friendship. I like the Dean and Charlie moments and I think it's special, but it's not a closer thing than the brother bond.
Nahhh fav ship doesn't have to be canon so either Cas/Meg or Dean/Cas, the Sam/Amelia ship is absolute dog shit. For friendship i think it's best to exclude Sam/Dean to have more variety like Benny/Dean and Dean/Charlie which were both great.
