These things are utter garbage. Absolutely horrible toilet. They clog so easily and have such awful flushes.

Where the tank connects to the bowl, is that not a uniform level area? When trying to connect the tank, it leans to the right because of the port connection design (at least on mine).

Check to make sure the bolts are tightened evenly. I had to use a socket to get the bolts snugged up since this toilet was designed with a recess on the underside of the bowl where the bolts go through.

Thanks, your video helped me realize that I did not have the washers on the tank bolts.

Anybody know why dose the tank gets a slime grime coating on the inside of the tank????? Could totally understand if the water is sitting in the tank for weeks on end, but the toilet is getting flushed like every two hours!

I’m really glad you posted this video. Last night, I bought two of these Cimarron’s at one of the big box stores. As I put the first toilet together, I noticed the tank had those two rubber headed bolts and the flush valve gasket was much thinner than the typical donut gasket that has been around for ages. So I mount it to the bowl and and notice it just doesn’t feel right, just has the feel that’s it’s definitely gonna leak. I set it and move onto the other bathroom to assemble and set that toilet before turning the water back on. So out of the next box comes a toilet with the metal bracket on the bottom of the tank and a fat 2” donut gasket. Fair enough, I put it together with the assumption at this point that I somehow drew the lucky card of getting two toilets from the same stock pallet with one having an upgraded design. So I set toilet #2, turn the water on, fill the tank and test it. Awesome, no leaks. Now, back to toilet #1. Fill the tank just a little bit, open the flush valve and sure as shit, it leaks right out of the valve. I take it apart, looking at the design of the gasket compared to the bowl opening. Just doesn’t add up. I’m thinking WTF at this point. I’ve tinkered around in the plumbing trade for years, and I’ve never seen anything like this, until watching your video. Turns out, after you showed the new rim design in the bowl and put the camera on the tank inlet, it dawned on me. In the box of toilet #1 was the new tank design, but with older designed bowl. I noticed the bolt slots on the new bowl are different as well and most importantly, the tank inlet is cast much differently and I can now see how that new gasket would properly fit. Now I know legitimately how to explain this to Kohler on Monday morning. Thanks for posting this, man!

That’s so awesome you were able to figure that out by watching the video. Yeah that was definitely an oops in the shipping sending the new tank with the old bowl. 😬😂

@C. G. Baker. did you get any satisfaction with kohler? today i installed a cimmaron 360 and had the same experience. a leak due to a thin tank-to-bowl gasket on a mismatched bowl. i might go buy another one tomorrow and check it in the store first.

Between Toto and American standard with the Vormax , What do you prefer ?

They both make great toilets. Between the two options I would choose Toto out of personal preference. I really like Kohler and Toto . Great features, performance and looks. I personally prefer Kohler.

@@rosskapron3634 I just bought a Kohler cimeron and the toliet bowl when I opened the box had this film of greasy inside the bowl . Have you ever seen anything like that or heard of such a problem ?
@rosskapron3634
@rosskapron3634 3 года назад
@@Rezparviz I haven’t had that issue. If it’s the newer style bowl it comes with a coating that allows the water to bead and nothing to stick to the bowl. But you shouldn’t be able to rub it off like grease.
@Rezparviz
@Rezparviz 3 года назад
@@rosskapron3634 the problem is that I can rub off the greese and so the only thing that will take it off is like alcohol or something stronger and the manufacture says that I can take off the protective coating of I use rubbing alcohol on the bowl ? Is this true and do you think I can safely clean the bowl without the protective coating coming off ? I just don’t want to drive 1 hour to take this thing back .

@@Rezparviz I would return it for a new one.
