#nativeplants #pollinatorgarden #wildlifegarden Today's video I am showing you a couple of my garden beds that I am expanding and redesigning. I have been picking away at the work and both projects are partially done. I am hoping these projects will be completed sometime in December.

You have really done a lot of work on your garden. I can’t imagine moving all those plants.

I have the same mystery aster popping up everywhere. From a distance you think there’s nothing visiting it but up close you can see that it’s absolutely a buzz with tiny native pollinators.

Yes, a couple of my favorite images are of this aster with the tiny pollinators! Thank you for stopping in!

I love the idea of cutting back the mountain mint so it functions as a ground cover in late season. I discovered the same behavior with my Monarda fistulosa this year after I cut back the tall stems that had powdery mildew. I always appreciate your videos and insights. 🙏🌱

I'm not sure if I mentioned it but I am going to be a little more precise about chelsea chopping next year. The asters, turtle head, and very late blooming native will get a June 15 chop. Earlier blooming, I'll stick with May 15. Thanks for stopping in!

Yeah I'm one in Pennsylvania and I have 30 gardens at memorial Park in New Kensington Pennsylvania and I've been doing 1820 years now they're just beautiful it's just for people to walk through and see all the flowers and I have some fruit trees and I also use egg yolk in water to keep especially on my hostas the egg yolk from water I use three egg yolks in a large bottle of water and shake it and then spray them when they first start coming up so you might want to try it it works okay talk to you later thank you bye

It's always a pleasure to watch your videos. I love what you're doing with your island garden! You've been working hard. Hey, what are the conditions you are looking for when it comes to the columbine? I just bought some and I'm torn on a few areas in my garden as potential spots for mine. Same thing with river oats. I have seeds for it, but I'm not sure where is best. I see mixed opinions online. Thanks for sharing your garden with us! -Macey

@@ninetypercentnative Thank you so much, Michele! I put the columbine under my young (but growing quickly) black cherry tree. I hope it's happy there!

Looking great!Persicaria virginiana, woodland knotweed aka jump seed is native. I just ordered seed of it from prairie moon. Hmmm. Is it a crazy spreader?
@michelearmon1486
@michelearmon1486 10 месяцев назад
Hi! The jumpseed I showed in the video is not native. However, I have the native growing naturally in my woodland and love it. The non native is a cultivar that has been crossed with an Asian variety and it is known as ‘Painter’s Palette’. It has little pink flowers and black arrows on the leaves. My native jumpseed has white flower and no variegation in the leaves. Both spread prett fast, but if you put it where it has room then it should be fine. The native I have doesn’t spread as fast as the non-native. Thanks for stopping in and commenting!
