for the first like ten minutes of this i was like "wow all those people who told me not to play this style were full of shit this looks awesome!" and then when you ran out of pierce shot at the end i was like "oh okay maybe they were right a little bit"
yeah Aerial Style and Gunner doesnt mesh well since you can't aim while midair, wasting precious shots on non-weak points or even missing enitrely despite Aerial Style on all three Gunner weapon types are somewhat buffed from MHGen it's still not enough to compete with the practicality of other styles
I don't think I even see a single instance where aerial gunner is present as option in any Arena quests, even the DLC ones just to show even the devs are aware how impractical this combination is
@@ecbrd8478 I have done this just with pierce 1 with much better shot leniency with a full damage set + mass combiner but it was really hard to play without getting hit. So here I dropped some damage to put in combination pro so I could run readiness to band-aid the aerial mobillity issue lol.
@@sigmazeta2044 You can aim while in the air, the run demonstrates that. I don't think that aerial aiming is much of an issue. The main problem with aerial is that, although aerial shots have guaranteed crit distance, immediately after landing from a vault you will often be too close for all pierce ticks to be at crit distance. What you gain in dps from being able to fire more quickly from a vault vs an adept dodge, you lose by being out of crit distance or having to spend extra time repositioning. That being said, the style isn't even bad. The devs have definitely put more sadistic loadouts in arena than what aerial LBG would have been.
