If you don't have a good quality thermal pad to replace the old thermal pad, then you should have a extra care when you are disassembly the laptop to not contaminate with dust or anything. Do not touch with fingers the thermal pad, you will contaminate with grease. Before the CPU upgrade, update the BIOS to the latest version. What CPU do you have now in your laptop? The L300 series laptop came with Intel and AMD procesors. Look for your exact model L300-xxxx.

@@redigitt The exact model was DYNABOOK SATELLITE T41 200C/5W and based on the sticker they put it here was INTEL CELERON.

I find some information here dynabook.com/pc/catalog/satellit/081007t4/spec.htm and probably you could upgrade your CPU with these CPU's www.cpu-upgrade.com/CPUs/Intel/Celeron_M/575.html I never saw any DYNABOOK SATELLITE T41 laptop in my life, so do it on your own risk. I suggest first disassembly the laptop and verify the processor type or look with CPU Z. Use good quality thermal paste, because the dual core CPU's TDP are higher then Celeron. For this hardware you don't upgrade to Windows 10. I installed Windows 7 Home Premium edition and I modified some settings.

Aloha,I don't know your laptop and I don't know if your BIOS support these CPU's, but here are all the socket P CPUs ark.intel.com/products/codename/26543/Penryn First upgrade the Bios to the latest version. Choose from the 25-35W TDP and before Q2.09. Do NOT choose the SU and ULV CPUs. Keep us inform about the upgrade. Good luck.

Aloha, you installed right the CPU, but your BIOS dosen't support the i7 CPU. Please verify your BIOS version and check for BIOS upgrade on the manifacture site. www.toshiba.co.uk/support/drivers/laptops/ .You can check your BIOS version with the CPUZ program, on the 3 "SHEET" Motherbord SHEET in the middle. Be carefull if you make a BIOS upgrade, disable the internet connection temporary and stop the antivirus program, you don't wan't to restart the laptop when you upgrading the BIOS because the windows has intagrated an update or the the antivirus has found a suspicios file. You can try to reset the BIOS to the default settings, but I don't thik this will help you. Good luck.
