I felt so bad for Wayne that his kids just got ripped away from him. He never remarried or had any other kids. He has deeply suffered and his girls also had that kind of loss. I am glad he now has them back after two decades.

I live vicariously through shows like this. I found my birthmother and met her as she was dying. My half sisters want nothing to do with me. My biofather had died years before and never knew about me. I met his brother once before he died, but my brothers were on the fence about meeting me. Ten years later and haven't met them. A-parents died years ago, and not close as adults to a-siblings now. Adoption can create a very isolating human experience.

I really don't believe it was on her own accord though I believe her husband really push that issue for her to actually reconcile and meet her because like Lawrence say him as well as his mother was very surprised on his stepfather's willingness and acceptance of the secret I honestly feel that he probably told her if she would have been honest they could have fought for her they could have went back to New Zealand and probably got her when she was still little being that he already accepted her prior son why wouldn't he accept her daughter as well and they never had any children so I believe he wants to be a part of her life to if she will let him

I had a friend who found his mom after 45 years. He found his dad too but his dad refused to meet him and have anything to do with him. At first his mom was hesitant to meet him, she was afraid he was after her for money, which couldn't have been further from the truth as he had his own business at the time and was doing rather well. You have no idea as to the personal circumstances of a mother having to relinquish her child..please do not be so judgmental without having the facts.
@sherrylawrencelewis2544
@sherrylawrencelewis2544 2 года назад
It is not judgemental but natural concern over curiosity. From the moment, I could feel my baby fluttering inside me, I was in love. Towards the end of my pregnancy, when my bump was mammoth - I could make out my baby's position. I would gingerly lower myself into a warm bath. There I sang, had 'conversations,' told my bump about the funny stuff that had happened in my family (Eg: after Sunday dinner, my dad would take an afternoon nap downstairs, I used to put bits of cornflakes/popcorn/bread in his snoring mouth then run and hide - a few weeks later, this then progressed to putting my mother's lipstick on him carefully missing his thick beard then added rouge on his eyes and cheeks - when he then made his usual walk down to the pub, he got a few stares - it was only when he caught a glimpse of his reflection in the mirror behind the bar did he understand why - my backside paid a heavy price). My bump responded by pounding my kidneys when I giggled out loud. It is possible to not have emotional ties but who really wants to not have a relationship with one's own flesh and blood. Anyway, my marriage broke down when I was four months pregnant so I raised my daughter alone. Her father chose to not maintain his visitation but I used to drive her to his parents to see them and have a memory of them. When my grandmother-in-law died no one told us. I am just glad I drove my daughter round to see the elderly lady when she was alive. Now, my girl is twenty-five and quite independent. She knows who and where her dad and his family are. It's her choice and theirs to develop relationship. I have done my bit. I believe her father checks our daughter's social media from time to time but that's it. He has other kids - two sons aged eighteen and fifteen. They heard about their half-sister's existence around ten years agos. They met up twice and since then nothing which is such a shame.
@Finians_Mancave
@Finians_Mancave 2 года назад
@@sherrylawrencelewis2544 Sorry, but you are describing YOUR feelings, which can't be applied to everyone. Bottom line, there are mothers who simply can't take care of a child for whatever reason. It's completely logical that many of these mothers would give the child up to an adoptive family and then force themselves to go into denial about what happened - because it's either that or go mad with sadness and guilt. You've seen people with tons of kids living horribly and you know in your heart that most of these kids should have been put up for adoption. The kids' welfare should come first, not the mother. Condemning a mother who gives up her child because she wants the best for him/her is completely disingenuous and naive, and yes, is ridiculously judgemental. Citing your story as some sort of gold standard to judge by is just silly because it's only YOUR story, and has nothing to do with the millions of others out there in the world.

I hate when parents estrange them from their children, for whatever reason. When I divorced, I never kept our child away from her father or his side of the family. It was important to me that she know them and are at least half of who she is. I couldn't take that away from her. Regardless of how I felt about her father, he was still her father. I let her make her own mind up about him. I never said an unkind thing about him to her. I a glad now I did the right thing. He passed away a few years ago.

@JO MAMA. Thank you for your comment. I only met my daughter "officially" when she was 21. Her mother married a man who objected to our meeting until the child became an adult. I was able to sneak a look at her only twice when she was about 8 and again when she was 14. That was when she came to congratulate my fiancée of her engagement. Strange coincidence, as my wife's sister in law is actually my second cousin. Karma and destinies.

A friend thought that she had found her biological father (she had been given up for adoption at birth) and they had gotten attached. His children wanted a DNA test done before they accepted her into the family. The 'father' was applaud that his kids would deny their sister. A DNA test was done & it was found that he was NOT her biological father. It was so heart breaking. She later went on to find her real biological father & it was confirmed w/ a DNA test before she let herself get too attached.

I felt so emotional watching this, My daughter just recently lost her father They didn't even had a chance to meet each other. How I wish i do something so they can see each other but now it's too late . I felt brokenhearted knowing that my daughter wont have a chance to see her dad alive. She cant even hug him.

The first one was great, seeing her dad and knowing who she looked like. Planning a trip to Fiji, loved it! The second one was harder...found myself getting angry with the birth mom...what kind of woman doesn't want to see her child. No matter the circumstances surrounding it. Glad she finally pulled her head out and did the right thing for her daughter. The third one was good although I felt some tension with the daughters towards the dad. Hope they can work through him leaving them and enjoy the time they have left. Life is messy so we all need to help each other in any way we can. ♥♥♥

David is the best Long Lost host. Either he or the producers/writers set just the right tone and have a great format. The USA one had such seriousness and drama in tone. The UK one is much better and the NZ one is A+. I’m from the USA.

This is so amazing. The women are so sweet. It was nice to see things go so well for her. That first potential father. It really hit him. I hope his wife and family are supportive. It was a long time ago, and he was probably very young and I hope some good will come of it. I can't imagine a piece of myself out there. Its a tough situation. I would be upset at first-as his wife, but I would still love the child regardless. They are innocents. I'm so glad things went well for them. Good stuff! Liked & subscribed :)
