That's what hip hop artists use to be like. It was a thinking man's art, not just shit that sounds fly, but it had to actually be witty and sometimes so deep that you had to listen to it several times to get it. Now a lot of this shit doesn't make sense, and bars are watery.
If you ever listen to redman's freestyles you can actually tell that they are freestyles. Nowadays freestyle just means rhyming without reading your lyrics.
Not unbiased at all... Gotta lot of love for Redman, but his own bars in this weren't a 5, but he be funny like that. And because 2Chainz dogging Heather B he threw out the card... rightfully so, but that's biased. But gotta give him props for really reading those bars, analyzing them...
I know this is old, but this was one of the best, Rate The Bars episodes I’ve seen. Red Man was real with it, he actually broke down the bars. Excellent job.
That's not where the line ends.. he says he "finds irony in going from being like a stone in the grass to rock in (rocking) the garden" as in going from being tiny and unseen to doing shows at madison square garden.. if you honestly need someone to explain that, Royce is clearly not for you..
When he mentioned niggaz' salads being tossed, noooooo, just no 😭😭 his facial expression & long pause tho!! 😂 Yooo, this my FAVORITE one, other than Fat Joe's... I REALLY love how he's TRULY analyzing *each bar* Maaaaad respect, Red!!!!!
Biz Benoit One of em, Top 5!! MF DOOM is the GOAT if we going by skill, Dude has deep punchlines, metaphors and wordplay, his rhyme scheme is amazing and he is amazing rhymer and his story telling is amazing!! Also his flow is nice too
Rick Sanchez i agree with that when it comes to skills MF Doom is the nasties MC but Nas is more better MC than MF his storytelling is imaginable MF is as lyrical as Nas they both use double meaning words
F Tmac Gotta Be About The money MF DOOMs rhyne scheme and rhyming is better than Nas's tho so overall I would put MF DOOM over, anyone if were talking bout skill, Redman is in my Top 5 tho!!
Unknowlingly critiqueing jay-z i expected he was gonna trash jay's verse...i was dissapointed lol...decent verse though but never much of jay fan i love redman though So yeah semi clickbait
It's hard to analyze Royce's bars though cause he has an extremely unorthadox flow, so when the rhyming is off, it's hard to appreciate the rest of it.
Redman EASILY had the best verse on here, "..33rd of my brain is off/that explain why my language off" the whole verse is dope, his rhyme pattern & structure is unique & one of the highest levels of the artform IMO.
Simon Keßler Fam, how do 42 people agree with you? He clearly critiqued Jay Z’s verse. He just dug it. A critique doesn’t have to be negative. Bless up 🙏
Michael let me just explain that rq. How often to people pause a song after hearing a bar that they don't understand? They'll just skip over it. Also yea generally people don't like songs that are TOO lyrical. That's why Wu Tang Clan isn't that popular and neither is K RINO.
@@seekerundue Yes, that is so true! hahaha, generally people want things they can understand, and it could be said lyrical content requires too much thinking looool
Eminem the only rapper that ever gave Redman his dues on a song and props to him for that because Redman is grossly underrated. "it goes Reggie, jay z, tupac and biggie, Andre from outkast jadda korupt, nas and then me."
What's trippy, MCs be watching this and make plans on tighten up their Verses, towards five bars worthy. Trust and believe if the said artist is a student of the culture; plus top tier craftsmanship.
Still trying to find out how to get some of my bars on here. If anymore from BET is in here you gotta help me with trying to get my bars on here. I gaurantee they're better than 90% of the bars shown on here
you have to understand the definition of irony to understand that last line from Royce...I give it a 5. "I went from a stone in the grass (a stone in the grass... obviously) to a rock the garden (rocking the Madison square garden). I'm surprised Red didn't catch that.
