Also, FYI keep at it mate, I believe it's the freaking algorithm keeping you down when it comes to clicks not necessarily the thumbnails. Keep experimenting with them by all means but I believe it's gonna blow up for you one day randomly when you least expect it. I believe in you and your reviews speak for themselves, so in depth and professional whilst still keeping them all under 20 mins. Mastered the format just keep at it!
Thank you! That means a lot, yes lately getting hammered by it and some suggested my thumbs weren't "clickable" enough. I'll just see how it goes and if not keep my old style. Haha well we shall see one day, people seem to be more into flashy style videos telling you everything is amazing got but it.
@@TheAaronJPell this is the top dog in that line up so ofcourse it's gonna cost more. and the F3 didn't come with that price initially besides times change the last year.
I honestly was just surprised about the 470 dollars, price for the 12 pro plus! There is nothing ground breaking here from the 11 and 10th generations! The previous iterations were always priced within the 350 mark! And that was a, big selling point for the note from Redmi! Yes it's a solid phone but we are around the 500 dollar mark here! And we get Android 12! Thank you for your honest take and review as always Sir Chris✌👍
The younger demographic spoilt by years of low inflation does not realise that we have periods where prices rise due to economic variables. The latest data suggest tech inflation was about 30% last year, so these price rises are just basic economics. Within this price range, margins are small, and 30% inflation probably wipes out a profit if they do not increase prices. So, it is either at this price or not bother, as making phones to lose money is not a good business model.
I'm a Xiaomi user and I love MiUI but you're right. This way (price, specs, Android 12) it all plays into Samsung's pockets and I would actually buy new Samsung A54 instead of this Pro+ or any other other mid-range Xiaomi. There's little hope left about Poco F5 let's wait and see. But it seems that Xiaomi will also be badly beaten in June-July when OnePlus Nord 3 5g arrives with amazing specs (Dimensity 9000) and much better camera (a new Sony OIS sensor) turbo-charging and a low mid-range price maybe just 399€.
with the price difference between the Note 12 Pro & Note 12 Pro Plus for a 200MP camera that will be crunch down anw, Note 12 Pro is the better choice since the performance is basically the same. Great review man, really in-depth and helpful!
thanks for your review! the best review of all over the whole youtube, 9:55 thanks for showing us the audio bit rate in video recording , been waiting for so long and this would probably be the first redmi note series with such high audio bit rate . owned almost all samsung s phone and since s8,s9 s10...note 8, 9,10 ... they all been recording in 256kbps since 2017, and the sound quality is significantly better! this is the only channel in whole youtube that cares about audio bitrate, love it ! definitely get this new Redmi Note 12 Pro only for this feature!
Thumbnails looking really interesting and different from before, good change nonetheless!! Been waiting for more Redmi Note reviews from you! But damn, Redmi is getting more expensive
Hahaa they are crazy. At that price I won't buy a redmi phone. Instead I will buy an old flagship smartphone. The main selling point for a Xiaomi was about the price
I am not terribly convinced by this model, as the natural replacement for my two year old excellent Redmi Note 10 Pro, which was half the price of that Redmi Note 12 Pro +.
I've been using Xiaomi phones since the original redmi note 4g in 2014 and was always recommending them. It has to be said though, they have lost their way. You can buy a pixel 6 for that price, and the 6a for around 330 euros. I don't mind the bloatware , the ads, and wonky software support policy if I'm paying up to 250 eur. But 400+ for a redmi note? lol, no way
They aren't, bloatware, ads you can rid of easily and those prices are gonna go down over time. If people can't afford the plus they gonna go for the pro, besides who cares about Pixel, are you serious!! One of the worst phones ever.
just watched the gsmarena review. The A54 seemed to produce much better results with it's 3 cameras. It's disappointing to see that the 200mp camera is nothing more than a gimmick in most scenarios. The A54 is also available in my country meanwhile I'm still waiting for the Redmi Note 12 series to show up
11:33 Yeah I don't understand their logic with that sometimes. I have the Redmi Note 10 Pro (global version) and the 5mp auto-focus macro camera they used on that was not awesome with the stock camera app, but definitely good enough to be usable in good light. With GCam installed and tuned properly it is very very good. These image sensor assemblies are so cheap per piece at the volumes they would be buying them that I would be hard-pressed to believe it would cost more than an extra $0.50 per phone to just run everything with 5mp auto-focus cameras.
Using genshin impact as gaming test is a brilliant move considering it's like the most demanding mobile game currently Hope to see more gaming review again with another chipset against the same game
Yeah like many others I think it's just too expensive, especially when you consider all the other phones Xiaomi and Redmi have with similar or even better specs for maybe even less.
Dunno about everyone else, but I'm really liking the new thumbnail style - it's eye-catching and "poppy" without being clickbaity. Great work once again!
I agree mate, snapdragon 870 or even the 778G would have been a better chipset. Or the dimensity 1300? I mean the oppo Reno 8 is selling for 250 pounds on Amazon right now and that has the 1300, plus the find X5 (non pro) is selling for 450 which is a great phone for that price. Plus the software support is disappointing, saw it released with android 12 and only getting 2 updates? Unless they go to android 15 that's terrible lol
@@Techtablets That should be unacceptable in 2023 especially now in March it's been months since this phone came out Xiaomi is just lazy and stupid for not adding Android 13 out of the box this has to stop seriously
i ordered the Redmi note 12 pro (6+128) here in Thailand. they're selling it at 10000 baht (€267). i honestly thought at that price, they should've given us the 8+128 varient. but they had a deal on pre-order since they just launched it here a few weeks ago and you get 1500 baht off (€40) plus a free carry-on suitcase. so €220 for a phone and a suitcase sounds like a deal for me. considering the Samsung a34 that has 8gb ram compared to 6gb on the 12 pro is going for €320 here.
Hello there, im looking forward to buy this phone. Can tell me if theres any heating issues? Charging problems? Or any problem related to it. ( Im not a heavy gamer or a photographer )
Really appreciated how muted and simple your thumbnails were. But I do, of course, understand that they might not be that good when it comes to catching people's attention. Just keep them more readable please.

Love your new thumbnail. With yourself in the picture it feels more connected (to the video content and also the creator). Shorter video also helps. Keep it up.
I would rather wait for Redmi Note 12 Turbo (aka Poco F5 non-Pro). I heard that SD 7+ Gen 2 on that phone is almost on-par with SD 870 but with a more efficient 4 nm chipset. Still a flagship killer with a headphone jack though.
Welcome to inflation. Comes every 10-15 years and means everything rises in price, and some goods rise even faster. Inflation in tech was about 30%. Only so long can OEMs absorb this without making their business unviable, so it will inevitably be passed to consumers. The Pixel is used as a ray of light as to no price rises, but that is owned by Google, and they can use it as a loss-leader (Pixel never made money) for omnipresence marketing and a halo product.
Just ordered one as it is currently on sale in the UK for Amazon's Prime Day for £319. That's the same as the regular Note 12 Pro. Fingers crossed it will be with it.
I think it's worth waiting another 3 months or so for Redmi Note 12 Turbo or POCO F5 (they release them under different names on different markets), which are supposed to be pretty much the same phones with much better processor and specs.
For other people in the comments, I am unlucky to say I never saw the sudden flash with the rich features of the Redmi Note 10 Pro coming up, nor did I expect it to release so soon. I was very tight on time and in a rush for an immediate upgrade, at which time the Redmi Note 9 Pro was the last one there, and I knew about it. I however look at it this way Apart from the brightness, I could care less about OLED or refresh rate. I just enjoy it as it is, and since I don't game on a phone - - - Anywho, I guess I'm just giving a reminder on how lucky all you Redmi Note 10 Pro owners are. I too don't find myself needing to upgrade just yet, we'll see.
hello Sir. great review. i live in the Caribbean twin Island, of Trinidad and Tobago. we have a concern amnd its about the charging brick with the round pins. we cannot use that here, so why isnt there the flat pin version of the charging brick available? not all countries are able to use such charging block and thats the reason, why a number of people would not be able to purchase this phone we so love. is there a charging block with flat pins, that would be able to charge the redmi note 12 pro/pro plus? thanks for your help
@@Techtablets Thanks! I think "many" people are looking forward to Redmi Note 12 Pro as a kind of sweet spot in the RN12 series. If you have time some photo comparison video would be nice and watched in the coming months. My impression is that Sony sensors also give nicer colors and less oversharpening.
Xiaomi is out of their freaking mind..450 euros for this phone? Pixel 7a will cost around 500 bit more or less!even now there much more better options in the market from this phone.
@@mikegriego21 sorry but you're wrong, right now as we speak, you can find it 400 euros and not from official retailers..there it costs 470-480...even in 400 pixel 7a makes much more sense.
I have the 8 Pro only last summer picked up the 11 Pro+ it's a nice thing on the box to say 128 / 200 megapixel but I have been dissapointed with the zoom for photos cropping after taking is no good once the optical zoom is added then I will upgrade from the 11 pro+ . Indoor photos is the place where it falls down on the 11 pro+ I wanted it as a camera instead of my nikon because 500 grams for events is too heavy and bulky when every gram matters. I would love to see some shots like you used to do showing the zoom possible but you missed those out this time. I've seen reviews saying its not a real 200 megapixel.
@@Techtablets honestly heard it's worse than Redmi Note 11 Pro+ at the same level of zoom in some comparison's I'd seen of the China localized handset. Until they add worthwhile high megapixel I won't be upgrading anymore in the Redmi lineup.
If it had wireless charging yes, I'm in camp redmi note since model 7 but in 2023 I'd want that (but still with a sd card slot and headphones jack, fuck "flagships")
Pls help me chose which mid range phone to buy. I damaged my previous redmi note 10 Pro it was amazing it worked well for me. Now I need new phone urgently but confuse which one to buy. Should I get redmi note 12 pro or honor 70 or samsung a54? I am looking to buy phone with 256gb internal memory.. I like my phone to work fast and battery to not become weaker overtime where it would need to be charged more often Budget no more than £300-450 Max 500.
Ive had my Redmi Note 10 Pro for almost 1.5 years now and I dont see any real reason to upgrade to the newer versions. Before that I had a Mi Max 2 (had a few issues on that one) but bring back the Mi Max I say 😊
me too I'm still using Note 10 pro, never getting rid of that phone even if i decided to buy new phone , we will never get something similar with that price ever again most likely.
@@soheiladam7510 I like some of the newer phones but as I said still dont see a reason to get a new one. Well, maybe I would if I had lots of money lol And I do like bigger screen phones thats why I miss my mi max 2. Had a 6.44" screen but at 16:9 aspect so even though its slightly smaller in height its much wider, i miss that. And I wish we still had a led notification light. Some phones have an aspect of 19:9 or 18:9..this would be a bit better for me. Rather than many like the Note 10 Pro that has 20:9.
Android manufacturers (especially Xiaomi and Samsung) want to push their customers to buy their high-ends so much that they have completely destroyed their mid-ranges for 2-3 years. The problem, and I don't know if they realize it, but in 2-3 years, the big winners of this incongruous choice will be Google with its Pixels but above all Apple with its old models, 12/13/14 .
Within this pricing, it was a dog-eat-dog battle for units sold. This competition favoured consumers but has meant that margins for selling these have fallen to the point where the rivals are killing each other with loss-making. Clearly, that is stupid as a long-term business model, and I believe that they have agreed that price wars will damage all of their businesses. So now pricing is moving to a reasonable level for the OEMs. Apple has been playing the sensible game that Samsung follows in their shadows for years, as it is about survival, not all-out war. Smartphone OEMs can fail easier than in most markets (see Nokia, LG, HTC, and Blackberry), so a sensible business model like Apple is good practice.
Thx for the review. I see that it also got a bigger punch hole compared to it's predecessors. I'm looking for a successor for my Redmi Note 10 Pro and I thought about 12 Pro+ but it's not good enough for it's price. Nubia Z50 Ultra has a similar price and I hope that it will come to Europe.
Unfortunately it seems like the days of Xiaomi offering good value for money are over. I was never fan of their UI and software experience but simply having them as a competition with low prices always kept other companies in check and pushed the standards. I guess every good phone will now be starting from 400€ at launch
Great reviews as always. I plan to get one good Xiaomi if you could help me with one category here. Which is the loudest Xiaomi phone via loudspeakers?
Do you still have the yoga tab 13? What rom do you have on it? I have the chinese rom on Android 11 and i am afraid to even update the small security update i have awaiting for me. Some global uses complain about atmos problems. Can you do a follow up? Obviously on Lenovo forums its as silent as in a church from Lenovo staff because noone there obviously have no idea how to even speak English so yeah... Please.. i am alomg subscriber even though i now write from my second account
I have no clue what happened to Xiaomi. They completely forgot how to process images. The X2, X3 NFC, Mi 10T era were legendary. Too many phone models, too much work pressure on OS updates, poor mix of sensor and main chip, this company is lost or confused now.
Not sure Oppo didn't send me one, but I might buy it. I'll decide tomorrow as I think it could be one of the best phones alongside the S23 Ultra and Magic5 Pro for 2023 flagships so far!
@@Techtablets Brilliant. I think I've whittled my choice down to the 5 Pro and Oppo but would like to obtain more info on each. Looking forward to your full review of the Magic 5 Pro!
how the hell did you manage to show us the battery wear at 05:50?! I have 2 Xiaomi phones and no one has this. It can be convenient. Or is it some kind of app you installed? Or is it in the benchmark you used? These reviewers can be so confusing sometimes man.
7 years before I bought the Redmi Note 3 Pro, I had paid 140 euros, 3 years before I decided to buy the Realme 3 Pro and since then I only trust her, I bought Realme Neo 3T 250 euros to replace my GT Master Edition, the prices announced by Xiaomi are ridiculous
