thats becuase the fuses are laced with gunpowder and acts as a fuel, and dynamite is mostly electronic triggered but if you make your own you would end up using gunpowder laced fuses

M3GA Music actually a fuse only stays lit under water if is contains an oxidiser, which firecrackers do. Something like dynamite would likely not have an oxidiser in the fuse, so it would be put out in water.

@@tiotharius it could well do. its not like there is only one kind of fuse to be used for anything, you could just use a fuse that contains oxidization agents. and im pretty sure they mostly do for safety. if you are going to use an explosive you need to be sure it WILL go off, few things more dangerous than an explosive thats meant to go off but doesnt. with because it might still go off or you gotta be the one to get close to find out why it didnt go off. i used to work in a factory that made explosives and i dont think for the 3 to 4 years i worked there we ever man any kind of fuse/flar/smoker round that didn have its own oxidizer
