The only new things here are the music video and the new title for the remix. This remix was included as the bonus track on their debut album Sex & Violins (all the way back in 1994), except back then, it was known as the Slide to the Side Mix.
Rednex is definitely back! I love this version! Being a DJ in Belgium, I spend it at each of my evenings! From now on, I will broadcast the music video...
No wedding reception… & I mean 🗣️🔊…NO WEDDING RECEPTION… …is complete w/o THIS classic gem…❤️🤍💛💙 Along w/ some other…unexpected surprises, Rednex’ Cotteneye Joe was in the DJ’s lineup at my wife and I’s wedding reception back in June 2022. My kids SOMEHOW managed to get quite a few surprises into the music lineup… 🫶🏻🙌👍🏻✊🏻✌️🤘🏻💪🏻🙏💚💛💙 And YES 👍🏻, there was a line dance along w/ an ULTRALONG remix version… Much love ❤️ as well from the Great, Beautiful, Pacific Northwest 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🏴🏴🇮🇪🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
@@pjwallace1006...calm yourself mate just because your kids played it at your wedding reception dont mean other wedding receptions aint complete without it😂😂😂😂 ...maybe if you grew up in the 90s okay...but trust me ive not heard this song at any other wedding recently and ive been to loads😂😂😂😂
I'm actually a big fan of that harmonica player's work. He's a session musician from North Carolina named Terry McMillan. His playing style was a unique one that blended the blues and country together to make a really cool sound. If you're a fan of country or gospel music, especially of the 80s and 90s sounds, you might have heard his harmonica before. He had played with so many legends in Nashville like Garth Brooks, Hank Williams Jr., Johnny Cash, Dolly Parton, and many more. He sadly passed away on Groundhog Day (February 2nd) 2007 from unknown circumstances. He will forever be missed.
I've been searching for this song for more than 9 years! First downloaded it during good old LimeWire days, but it came without the "Line Dance Remix"-affix. Wanted to buy it proper ever since I started making money, but never could find it no matter how I searched, and not even SoundHound/Shazam brought any solace weirdly enough. And iTunes just straight up doesn't show me all results when I search on occasion? But finally I can add it to my library, and a search of nearly a decade can end! Superbly big yay moment :D
I still get teased for this at age 40, yet I was convinced from early childhood up until my third year of college that it was John Denver singing this classic.
This mix is called Slide To The Side Mix. This mix, and its edited mix, Sweatin' Stetson Mix, were sent to country radio stations in the United States by Battery / Jive Records.

Rednex If it hadn't been for Cotton-Eye Joe I'd been married long time ago Where did you come from, where did you go? Where did you come from, Cotton-Eye Joe? If it hadn't been for Cotton-Eye Joe I'd been married long time ago Where did you come from, where did you go? Where did you come from, Cotton-Eye Joe? If it hadn't been for Cotton-Eye Joe I'd been married long time ago Where did you come from, where did you go? Where did you come from, Cotton-Eye Joe? He came to town like a midwinter storm He rode through the fields, so handsome and strong His eyes was his tools and his smile was his gun But all he had come for was having some fun If it hadn't been for Cotton-Eye Joe I'd been married long time ago Where did you come from, where did you go? Where did you come from, Cotton-Eye Joe? If it hadn't been for Cotton-Eye Joe I'd been married long time ago Where did you come from, where did you go? Where did you come from, Cotton-Eye Joe? He brought disaster wherever he went The hearts of the girls was to Hell, broken, sent They all ran away so nobody would know And left only men 'cause of Cotton-Eye Joe If it hadn't been for Cotton-Eye Joe I'd been married long time ago Where did you come from, where did you go? Where did you come from, Cotton-Eye Joe? If it hadn't been for Cotton-Eye Joe I'd been married long time ago Where did you come from, where did you go? Where did you come from, Cotton-Eye Joe?
