Haven't been able to fish much due to Covid and kids. I got a Spydro underwater camera and I put it to work today while jigging for rockfish. It was really tough aligning all the different video sources together so don't expect everything to be in sync.

@@cheethoe 3. Surprised at how much life there was in the deep water around the 49 min mark. I wish there wasn't the water spot/film on the GoPro so that I could better correlate what was on the ff to the cam footage. But I think i'm seeing bit of floating debris? Maybe that's what's making the "clouds" on the fish finder?

@@honeybadgervoodoooutdoors7305 yeah, next time I'll make sure my lens is clean when I bring out the underwater cam. I feel like those "clouds" are just suspended fish, especially after seeing the underwater footage at the 1:00:00 mark. I'm curious what it looks like on your fish finder, have you been using the screen recording feature of your fish finder?

@@cheethoe I think you may be right. I always thought it was some kind of loose vegetation, but there isn't enough light down there for that. the Garmin screen looks pretty similar to what's on your ff screen.

Nice addition with the underwater cam! You had a couple fish trying to eat it too. Can you see what the camera is seeing, live, while you are on the surface or is it a "wait until you get home" video?

I wish, I feel like that would make fishing soo much easier haha. It's a go home and see it type deal. You could view it on your smart phone when the camera is out of the water, but honestly the app for it is soo buggy I don't use it at all.

What kind of motor on your kayak ?

At the time it was a watersnake t24, but that thing was not water tight and the salt water entered the motor and destroyed it. I now have a Newport Vessels 36lb thrust Kayak series motor that is way better but also heavier.

Yup, I do that sometimes in case I run through a small bait ball. Sometimes I'll pass by small bait balls and by the time I pull out my jig it's gone and I don't know which direction they went.

Next time u fish for sheep don’t fucking move u find one hold that kelp and stay there there very territorial and a lot of the huge males guard there rocks like king of the hill so where there is one there’s a lot i free dive at Santa cruse and found 50 sheep on one rock covered in erchins

Thanks for the intel, moving was definitely a bad move. I didn't have it in the video, but after leaving, I tried to find my way back to that spot but forgot to drop a waypoint. I definitely saw that kind of pattern when I was targeting sheephead in MDR. Now I know, thanks soo much!
