Obviously Gwimbly’s design wasnt finalize at the time of the first games release, but nonetheless I’m glad you gave it a modern revamp, it’s like looking into an alternate universe where Gwimbly always had that design

I never actually played any Gwimbly games until about 2 or 3 years ago, when I played Super Gwimbly, and I instantly fell in love with the franchise and the character himself. Honestly my new favorite video game character.

No joke, they look like something the actual devs would've made for the NES Gwimbly game if they had made it later in the console's lifespan, sort of like Gimmick or Little Samson. I hope you make more of his sprites and upload them to TSR, they'd be welcomed with open arms for sure!

Actually looks a lot more similar to the Gwimbly 3 Sprite, the finale for the NES series. That game wasn't unfortunately successful but it was so interesting and experimental, And it was inspired the modern design!

Even though the sprite of Super Gwimbly 1 is iconic, they really improved it in Super Gwimbly 2 (the American version)

NO because I still have the games because my dad was a HUGE fan it turns out that he had a straight nose BUT each game it slowly gets its flimsy droopy nose look, there’s a whole documentary about it called the gwimbly effect and other characters from that era suffer from this effect.

NES Gwimbly never looked like how he's supposed to. Just look at the cover of the game's box, completely different from the sprite

How silly the devs were, they should've hired you back in 83 if they didn't want the game to look ugly, using the iconic gwimbly time machine

I mean yeah, the original sprites didn't age too well, but graphics as complex as the NES were still in their infancy in the home console market. Not to mention, O'Brien Entertainment (the company that Insane Groundbreaking Games bought out in 1992) had just 5 months to make the game, so they really had to cut corners wherever they could. At the very least, the series as a whole had a really good run up until the mid-2000's. God, that Mario Party clone was garbage.

If Roberson Gwimbly could see this he would cry one big fat tear out of his yellow eyes, so sad the shotgun thing happened a few years ago

Omg no way I completely forgot about Gwimbly!! I loved playing that game as a kid, and this is a great redrawn sprite. Seeing Gwimbly redrawn with such attention to detail is like stepping back into my childhood, but with a whole new twist! The way you've managed to capture the essence of the original character while adding fresh, modern elements is beyond impressive. I can't stop smiling every time I look at it-this is exactly how I imagined Gwimbly would evolve over time. Amazing work, I'm completely obsessed! I hope Gwimbly gets added to Super Smash Bros For Wii U as he is one of the most iconic gaming characters ever.
