I have had this old sharpening stone but it wasn't flat. I recently got this new diamond plate and now I can flatten and redress this old stone. Come and check it out. Here is the video I referred to about the road reflectors, hope you enjoy it: • Tool Haul, fun stuff.

This has got to be one of the coolest tool channels. Thanks for the reminder about care for combustibles - most videos leave out this critical info.

Good Afternoon ! I have a larger, Ultra Fine stone like that. It was my Grandfathers. I'm 63 & cherish the tools I got from both of the MEN. Now I know how to flatten it. Thank You. TAKE CARE..

That was me who responded to a shop on fire which turned out to be my friends place. They stained their deck, threw the rags in their shop, they combusted and burned the shop to the ground. He was storing his Harley chopper in the shop and it was a total loss. Was a sad day. An airtight metal container is the way to go. Spontaneous combustion is rare but it happens. Glad you mentioned the safety message. Love those reflectors. Take care, great video!

Thank you for letting me know. I know it’s rare but this kind of story makes it necessary to be cautious. Thanks for sharing and have a great weekend.

I wash all my shop rags with a 1966 Maytag wringer washer and use them again.

That’s great. I didn’t mean to say I burn all of my rags, I usually take mine to a local laundry mat and wash them there to be reused. Thanks for your visit and have a great weekend.

That was a very interesting and useful presentation on the diamond plates. I am looking forward to your work on cleaning up and fixing those gouges. I'd really like to see the gouges used on a project in your shop. Regard to the road reflectors, it is so good to see a product that had so many well thought out details go into both for its use and storage. Thanks as always.

It’s always great when you come by the shop for a visit. I’m glad you enjoyed the demonstration of the diamond plates. I do want to make a spoon with the gouges so that may be coming up sooner than later. As always, it’s great to have you in the comments and hope you have a great weekend.

Great advice on the rags. I have several Norton stones. I really like the ones in the wooden boxes. Thanks for the information on flattening them. Great video

Yes, we don’t want to be careless and lose our shops. Sounds like you are rather knowledgeable about the stones. Thanks so much for your visit and hope you have a great weekend.

Great job on thexstone. I did a video a few years ago on restoring a reflector set as yours.

Thank you. I will have to look up that video of yours. These reflectors didn’t need a whole lot of her story. I guess the outside of the box could be cleaned up some. Thanks for stopping by and have yourself a great day.

That's a pretty stone. I wonder where the quarry is that it came from? There are forgotten stone quarries all over this country now, it's a shame...

I am glad to have it, but I don’t have any idea where in the world it came from. Thanks so much for coming by the shop for a visit and hope you have a great weekend.

I was pleased with the results as well. Yes, let’s keep reminding each other to be a little safer. I know the house is where we live but in my opinion, the shop is almost more important. The shop is what I used to keep my living space in order and fixed up. Hope this makes sense. Stop by again soon and have a great weekend.

I wouldn’t be too concerned about using water. I have some diamond plates that I have used with water for close to 30 years, and have not had any issues with rust.

Thanks for letting me know that. This fluid isn’t cheap but if water works I would probably switch once this is gone. Thanks again for sharing this information and hope you have a great week.

First of all congratulations on reaching 3K subscribers!!! Good Good video, I'm curious why you used a diamond hone instead of a flatting stone to flatten your dad's stone. By the way that looks like a nice stone. Thanks for the demonstration, this is one area I have been working on, getting better edge on knives and chisels. Thanks
@toolscouter

Thank you so much for your kind words. It sounds like you know a little bit more about this than I do. I thought the diamond honing plate was a flatting stone. Like you, this is an area where I am wanting to improve. I want my stones flat and my chisels to be precise. If you have any information that I am missing feel free to pass it on to me. This is my email: toolscouter@gmail.com Thanks so much for watching and coming by for a visit, hope you have a great weekend.

Thank you so much for your support and encouragement. I’m always experimenting with my videos and hopefully learning better ways. Some people complain that the intros are too long and others like them. I know you can’t please everyone but I appreciate your kind words. It may come back one of these days. For now I hope you have a great weekend.
