Elly steals three bases on two pitches,absolutely crazy! He steals second base with no chance of a tag. Then steals third base and home with only one pitch thrown! To steal three bags on two pitches doesn’t happen very often. Every time I flip the channel over to the Reds this kid Elly De La Cruz is breaking records and doing things we haven’t seen in long long time! He’s a special player!

Last week my Roommate was talking to his Dad and they were both Bashing Joey Votto saying he's only hitting .150. I came to his defense. Here's what I said; Joey Votto was the Co-Star of the Friday Game between The Braves and Reds when we won 11-10. He hit two Homer's in what Joey called "Smash Mode"! He also was the Star of a couple of other victories of which the Reds Came back and Won. My Roommate said he's slumping and all Washed up! I agreed about slumping, but I said he's coming back from injuries and he's gonna break out of his slump and contribute to the Reds victories in clutch situations, because Thats what Votto is all about. Not even mentioning his great defense! He's raised his batting average about .100 and has reignited his "Smash Mode". He was responsible for all 3 runs in the 7-3 loss the in Friday nights loss of which non of the other Reds could excel in clutch opportunities like they have been for some reason. I had some hope when Joey made it 4-2! In any case Joey's clutch 3 run Blast tied the Game last night! He's still got it. Jonathan India is the Teams Captain, but I vote that Both Jonathan India and Joey Votto should be Co-Team Captain's in my opinion. Maybe that's possible? Maybe I'm Pipe Dreaming. It's just my personal thoughts, because Joey is leading by Example. He's very humble like Jonathan India is. They're both letting their Bats do the talking! Go Reds. In all honesty I was really upset about the Reds letting go of their Allstars Hitters and Cy Young Award and top 10 in the League Pitchers. Baur, Sonny Grey, Castillo,Keven Gausmaman, *the Giants starting rotation had 3 or 4 ex Reds, in 2020) they won the West over the Dodgers with that Pitching staff by the way. One more thing. In 2012 Joey Votto was the MVP of the National League. The Reds Swept the Giants in San Francisco at the end of the regular season, but Joey Votto twisted his Ankle and Johnny Cueto injured his throwing arm. We were beating the Giants in the Playoffs 2-0 we won the first 2 in San Francisco. However Our both Votto and Cueto couldn't play in the entire playoffs and we lost the last 3 games. How can a team contending for a Championship win against a formidable contender without their best Pitcher and MVP Hitter? What is Jose Rio wasn't playing in the 1990 World Series vs the A's? What if Mario Soto or Don Gullet wasn't playing innthe 1975 or 1976 World Series? See my point. In my opinion things would have turned out differently in the 2012. That's just my personal opinion. I think most people would agree with the examples of the contribution and impact Great players Pitchers or players or clutch hitters can do for their teams. By the same token if injuries plague teams the show must go on. Hopefully everyone can contribute like they have been 🤞
