That's incredible how significant these structures were back in the war, it's just a shame how they were left there with no further use, I'm sure they could have been used for something.
@WILDHANKHILLAPPEARS Also Shivering Sands, which looks just like it but is missing the AA Tower that connects the Command Center Tower to the Search Light Tower due to a ship running into it and destroying it.
They should rent the forts for tourists to live in. That might provide funds for keeping them maintained.I'm sure there's an eccentric millionaire somewhere who would love to live in the middle of the ocean.
Not what you'd call easily accessible though, are they? Excellent ventilation though. Be fun to make up an advert for them. Why don't they use them for wind/ tidal energy?
Exactly. Thats what I want to know she just glossed over that. I thought It was build during the blitz so how is that possible? Or were they build after ?
et's see. I believe this is where I was insulted and asked where I would get food. Well, to answer: Oh my goodness gracious! There is water! Oh--Wow! And a boat, oh my my my! LOL. I imagine if I found the time to get a boat, I would also find fishing supplies and make well - armed shore runs once I am settled. Water purification to remove salt, all the good stuff. People are so unimaginative! Anyhow. Dinner Time.
Hmm. I guess it never occurred to me that those rest in salt water. I'll have to resort to what they do in the movie Water World to get the salt out, whatever that process may be. So I either dehydrate or get eaten, what a choice, lol
