Hi guys! Education has been a problem in the Philippines and I just wanted to talk more about why it is so. Let me know what you guys think in the comments!

A meme i found on facebook says "Schools doesn't test your Intelligence, it only tests your Memory." I would add Schools are just for socializing nowadays which it still helps...but how about Education for Introverts??? I go for Module, Google, and RU-vid for this kind of things and pass it through messenger or on email. Doing this procedure should take just before Semesterial Exams, provided that the activity is relavant to the course.

I don't like the education system of our country, 90% of the things that the school teaches us are pretty much useless IRL, all of it are all about memorization, we will forget it anyways, it kills our creativity and we don't learn practical skills on it, lastly you will feel hopeless because of stress and you are burnt out of exhaustion, I hope I will pass college.

Education in the Philippines is just a "Diploma mills". Schools let's students graduated for the sake of incentives. Higher graduate rates means more incentives. High failure and dropout rates mean poor or bad rating for schools. To avoid these, just let all students pass.

Students are seen only as tools and not as human beings , why not ask students their opinions on what theyve experiences before the pandemic , after the pandemic , and during the "New Normal" Distance learning? , for example , i as a student coudnt get much sleep especially when i was grade `10? 11? basically there was tons of subjects and they were damn difficult , took me alot of time , Sabado and Lingo was supposed to be for resting , under the new normal? THERE IS NO RESTING , deadlines suck , so much so that i can now NOT SLEEP , ive literally forcibly acquired the skill of sleep deprivation , thank you school , you really did good for your students , no wonder so many students like me hate school ( and becuz of this hate it effects our learning ability , school NEEDS to be fun , people learn more if something is fun , IF ITS NOT FUN ITS SEEN AS A CHORE , AN OBSTACLE , ONCE PASSED THE SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE LEARNT CAN BE DISCARDED ESPECIALLY IF NOT NEEDED AT ALL ) , especially when i was a few grades back during the start and middle of the pandemic , i literally had to deal with 10 damn subjects , and the deadlines were tight as fuck , and to this day its still tight as fuck even though i now have only 6 subjects , SCHOOLS AND EDUCATION NEED TO BE MORE HUMANITARIAN , treat students as people , not as tools that allow you to accomplish your goals , TREAT STUDENTS AS HUMAN , NOT TOOLS , BE HUMAN , STAY HUMAN , SCHOOLS NEED REFORM , or this will reach a breaking point and the negative effects will be significant , it could be more suicides , more dropouts , or as she said , "Students are in school , go to school , but they arent learning anything" , thats what happened to me , many of the things taught to me as a student by past teachers , I CANT REMEMBER , subjects are taught as subjects , since thats how its taught , then dont be surprised when students treat these subjects as mere subjects , and not important life lessons , i just study something , the tests and homeworks come in , i do those things , after , I FORGET EVERYTHING BECUZ THEY ARENT NEEDED ANYMORE , all the things i learnt went inside one ear , out the other , REFORM SCHOOL EDUCATION!!! , REFORM SCHOOL EDUCATION!!! REFORM SCHOOL EDUCATION!!! HUMANIZE SCHOOL EDUCATION!!! ( This shit education system is common in Asia , you can see this in South korea , Japan , and most extreme , China , FUCK SCHOOL ). NON STOP SCHOOL MAKES STUDENTS HEADS HURT.

School education is also the problem on way Philippines was corrupt and high crimerates Due to no job and also family problems I also noted school was also made people act negatives and look down on other people who's bad at grade! Also for a bullies teacher doesn't care at all! They been so strict! This has been a huge problem!

As A Filipino Student, Filipino Education is very messed up.. Low Education Budget, Low Teacher Salary, Low Quality of Education Itself.

A lot of filipinos got a college degree but ended up not having a job or the job they don't want

My school gives me 15-25 useless subjects/modules every week and i keep being late for them and i can't even go outside for a millisec and they're grade 9 when 8's are supposed to be sent. Philippines modular learning is a huge waste of resource or about 25k php a week giving students a bunch of papers that won't help out in the future

Our school now gives modules and radyo aralan. One skipped modules nor absence in our radyo aralan, you will not pass. Our school principal once said that when you are "stressed", it means an "excuse" to not study, and you will get dropped out. "Great" job DepEd... 🙄😭 We students will forever to get suffer in an endless stress

Eduation is problem everywhere. But when I saw children crossing the river while going to school, my first thought was - they appreciate their education. Probably, they will not waste time and they will do their best. Just because if you go through difficultues to get something (knowledge, etc) you value it more than if you could take it easily whenever you want.

Tbh, this is not the problem in Philippines alone, most Asia countries I know have this issue in some parts of their country

Hello Sir, I have something to comment based on my first experience in college. I'm a first college student studied from Surigao Educational Center or SEC from Surigao Del Norte, Mindanao. It's really frustrating for me when it comes to essay in every subject with different topics even I can't give my self to relax because I really need it to pass, but there's one thing I hate about the teacher or Science Teacher was a minor subject. Architect is my course and chosen, we have the major subjects like different kinds of Math related to architecture but not Science by narrating about the mitochondria is the power house of cell. I did this at my home online activities or doing 5 task before the date ends. Our Science teacher gave us the activity about the theory of the mysteries shit was not my type to write a fucking essay. Sorry my curse words but I can't hold it any longer. My brain is ran out of ideas for the explanation when I have been searched an article about. For example, the Mystery of Bermuda triangle. Even the scientist can't explain the phenomena so I wrote it formally veracious, I answer it from the article because that's it was written and I have a limits of understanding. I have an another assignment should be done, even though I am a lazy student but I never let myself failed at school subjects. I thought my expectation was right because essay is just like writing a personal opinion, facts, conclusion, or 50/50 accuracy and doesn't have enough evidence. I should had a points like 25/40 or 30/40, do you wanna know how reality hurts my life? I got fucking 14/40. So my grades were considerably INC(Incomplete) because of my terrible scores. I choose the topic from the topic selection I selected 1, Bermuda Triangle. At the rest of the topic not so much for me. I have always doing my best but our teacher is just a fucking rotten head. I know you and your viewers related on that issue. So I hope you don't hate this comment about the way of my expressing infuriating feelings.

Education in Philippines is the worst education in the world.

The problem of the deteriorating quality of Philippine education, as well as the poverty in the Philippines, is that THE PSYCHE OF THE FILIPINO PEOPLE IS NOT GEARED OR AIMED TOWARDS ACHIEVING IT. What do you think most Filipinos will answer if asked which one to choose? 1. Highest grade or passing grade? 2. Summa cum laude or "just enough to pass?" 3. Intelligence or kindness? (Katalinuhan o kabutihan?) 4. Very rich or "not very rich but not very poor"? (Mayaman o "yung tama/kumportable lang"?) 5. Rich in money or rich in "the love you get from people?" (Mayaman sa pera o mayaman sa pagmamahal?) 6. Richness on earth or "richness in the Kingdom of Heaven?" (Kayamanan sa lupa o kayamanan sa langit?) 7. Justice or forgiveness? (Katarungan o pagpapatawad?) 8. Justice or charity? (Katarungan o kawanggawa?) 9. Being right or being kind? (Maging tama o maging mabuting tao?) 10. Excellence or simplicity? 11. Accolade or humility? (Parangal o pagpapakumbaba?) Oh, this one is very popular these days: 12. Intelligence or mental health? There is another question that should be asked. What trait would you prefer or want your husband/boyfriend or wife/girlfriend to possess? A variation is on one's self. What trait would you want or prefer that people that you know think you possess or that you are best known for? And you should ask what the ordinary Filipino will do if he were given... say 10 or 20 million pesos? Make them itemize their answer. A warning. The answers that the ordinary Filipino might give is revealed in a finding in the 2022 PISA. "A whopping 81% of students said they agree or strongly agree with the statement: "I like learning new things," and "Around 78% of students also said they agreed or strongly agreed that they "love learning new things in school." And yet, the 2018 PISA found out: "In detail, 72% of 15-year-old Filipinos are “low achievers” in the subjects of reading, math and science." Junior high school STUDENTS also MOVE UP THE NEXT LEVEL DESPITE HAVING LOW PROFICIENCY rates, wherein: 1% proficient in mathematics 3% proficient in English 1% proficient in science 13% proficient in Filipino 10% proficient in Araling Panlipunan "78-81% LIKE/LOVE LEARNING NEW THINGS IN SCHOOL." And yet... 87% NG ESTUDYANTENG PINOY... TAGALOG NA NGA LANG, EH BINABAGSAK PA. So what the Filipinos say is not exactly what they do. This is obvious in the 2022 PISA when asked how they feel about "learning new things," and 78-81% of the students said that they "like or love" to and yet the 2018 PISA revealed the dismal proficiency level of Filipino students. This behavior of the Filipinos - saying one thing but doing another - is pathognomonic of the psyche of the nation, especially because it is accepted, tolerated, and encouraged. And the question is why? The problem is the core psyche of the entire nation. We do not believe in, value, respect, adhere to, and live by STRICTLY TO THE CONCEPT OF RIGHT AND WRONG. What do you think high school graduates will say if you ask them which one of these is correct? a) Iyak ng iyak ang bata. b) Iyak nang iyak ang bata. How many do you think will give the correct answer? How many will "jokingly" say: "Kahit alin naman d'yan sa dalawa, ok lang! Ang importante alam mo na iyakin 'yong bata! Hahaha." To give the wrong answer is actually more acceptable. Not caring about something being right or wrong should have alarmed the nation. But, of course, it did not alarm anyone... at all. It is often heard said by many Filipinos when a mistake is being corrected: "Pwede na 'yan," or "OK lang 'yan." "Para maliit na bagay lang, nagpapaka-stress ka pa." "Move-on ka na lang kasi." "Walang basagan ng trip." "Bakit ka ba nakikialam, eh sa 'yan ang gusto ko?" And how many will say "Joke lang" to hide their ignorance? At the very worst, they will get angry and turn against the person correcting them: "Ito kung makapintas, akala mo s'ya perpecto at hindi nagkakamali!" Someone once said: "Learn to distinguish the difference between errors of knowledge and breaches of morality. An error of knowledge is not a moral flaw, provided you are willing to correct it.... But a breach of morality is the conscious choice of an action you know to be evil, or a willful evasion of knowledge, a suspension of sight and of thought. That which you do not know, is not a moral charge against you; but that which you refuse to know, is an account of infamy growing in your soul. Make every allowance for errors of knowledge; do not forgive or accept any break of morality." Little things, most Filipinos will say, but they have mutated into something big enough to encapsulate and imprison the very soul of the nation. This is the cause of everything that ails Philippine society. At the core of the psyche of the Filipino nation is not about being "right and wrong", BUT ABOUT BEING "isang mabait na tao or isang masamang tao." Everytime a student is praised by a classmate for being the only one in the class who got a perfect or the highest score in an exam: "Grabe! Ang talino mo talaga!" what is the usual reply? "Hindi naman. Tsamba lang." And what do we often see and hear when someone proudly accepts the praise? "Grabe! Ang yabang mo naman!" Mas importante ba sa mga Pilipino na masabihan na "humble ka" kaysa masabihan na "matalino ka?" In 2016, DepEd released a new policy: “No more titles of valedictorian and salutatorian. No more concept of Top 1. Announcements of (students) with highest honors, with high honors and with honors must be made in alphabetical order not from highest to lowest within categories,” read the post (that was based on the memorandum dated May 27, 2021). Under the 2016 order, DepEd aimed to promote equality instead of competition towards academic excellence. At the time, it said students have their “own unique strengths” that need to be “identified, strengthened, and publicly acknowledged.” “It is important to veer away from valuing only academic achievement based on high grades and move toward valuing and celebrating a wide range of student achievements,” the 2016 rationale read. Is this 2016 DepEd memo, "VEERING AWAY FROM VALUING ONLY ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT BASED ON HIGH GRADES," just in agreement or alignment with the Filipino people believing that Miss Universe/Beauty pageant winners, international boxing champions, and university basketball team champions are more important - enough to be the headline photos of newspapers or honored with float parades and meeting the Philippine president in Malacanang - than the first Filipino winning the NOBEL PRIZE and being the Commencement speaker at Harvard University? Every answer claimed by everyone about the cause of everything that ails Philippine education boils to these: Corruption in government. Education system/curriculum. Poor teacher pay. Poor or inadequate teacher skills. Bad or inadequate school facilities. Students not learning enough or properly. Or whatever it is that the parents should be doing. For every answer to the "WHAT" question - as to what's the cause of the deterioration of Philippine education and the causes of Philippine poverty, - the "WHY" should be asked. WHY can the nation NOT solve these "WHATs." Keep asking why. And then you will reach the terminus. And at the terminus, the answer will stare you back in the face. THE PSYCHE OF THE FILIPINO PEOPLE - like that of a computer program - IS CORRUPTED AND DAMAGED. "Learn to distinguish the difference between errors of knowledge and breaches of morality. An error of knowledge is not a moral flaw, provided you are willing to correct it.... But a breach of morality is the conscious choice of an action you know to be evil, or A WILLFUL EVASION OF KNOWLEDGE, A SUSPENSION OF SIGHT AND THOUGHT. the problem is education doesnt matter anymore, it has always and always will be who you know not what you know. I have lived in cebu for 10 years and the BPO industry allows kids with no experience whatsoever to get decent jobs. However the way they are taught is wrong, For some reason this way of professionalism here is not accepted internationally. I.E my grandparents died. (western and European way is who cares come to work). Here you can take an entire month off. The laws here are much for the employee which I agree with to a point however in the long run they dont help development. What it does is develop people who just work the system and thats a problem. Keep making videos your content is good and has some true but get a little bit more facts before making assumptions. I doubt you've worked more than 6 months in a BPO and understand the constant stress Filipino employees go through.
