That's why I love that me and my husband are not gung-ho on Christmas celebrations 😅. The most Christmas in my house is a Christmas candle from Bath & Bodyworks😂

One thing we did differently this year for gifts is we made an Amazon list like in October. When Black Friday and Cyber Monday came, we purchased all our gifts then. Last year we spent $800+ on gifts (large family on both ends) and this year we got it down to less than $400. We also did bigger gifts for larger families. Example: We bought a $50 pool for a family with 4 kids. So instead of spending $20 per kid we did 1 big gift that saved us money. This took the stress off financially for us and the pressure as well. It felt nice to enjoy December without worrying about gifts.

@@user-vn7hr9nb2rthe reason Jesus is the reason for the season is because we (as Christians) are celebrating His birth on Christmas hence “Christ” being in the holiday name. The world has turned it into only Santa and gifts when all those things should be is an addition to the celebration not the main reason. Jesus Christ is King. The saviour was born that day. He shall forever be praised. There is unconditional love with Him. Repenting from sin and accepting Jesus as your saviour is an option for everyone! I don’t know your full story but I will be praying for you❤

Thank you for sharing parts of your house that isn't perfect or a little inconvenient. It's so easy to feel like your house isn't good enough to host because it's not bigger or something. This was actually a really helpful video and not many like it right now

I remember my mom doing homemade wrapping paper with us one year!! She gave us paint, spread a huge roll of paper out on the table and we went crazy! It was so much fun!!

Imagine the stress of December now add on your husband’s birthday plus your two little one’s birthdays. That’s my life! 😩 I am on the same page as you about Christmas we teach our little ones that this is Jesus’s birthday not ours. We are doing no gifts this year which helps a ton!

I feel like everyone talks about this issue but mever does anything about it.. love your points. We didnt decorate this year for some peace of mind and instead did all the fun stuff. Baked cookies, light shows church events we will do presents but no decorating this year and really shift our focus on Christ

My family before kids what we did was secret santa!! So in Thanksgiving we draw one name and we did a budget… And now because grandkids we just do for the (3)kids Christmas is about Jesus and we celebrate Jesus birthday (we literally buy a cake)😂 And I agree to all what are you saying!! We called “Santa” Jesus helper so the kids know what is really Christmas is about and Santa is not the one bringing the gift! 😄

We celebrate Jesus for Christmas and am careful to not give the glory to anyone else. All the gifts under our tree come from God and our son loves every bit of it! It was a weird transition from telling everyone we don’t do Santa, but am grateful to speak up on it when the opportunity comes. It’s important we tell our children the truth as the world is so full of lies.

This was the first year in a while where we haven’t done so many activities, driven places, and also bought so many decor pieces/new. We thrifted once some decor and tons of cheap tins for cookies, we made a lot of out decorations, and baked soo much. I feel like I’ve spent more intentional time with my daughter and I hope these are the things she remembers when she looks back on the holiday and not just the instagramesque of it all

Family members who host but then complain about it is whats stressing me. We offered to host but they insist they have to because of tradition. I want to be a grinch and stay home this year instead of having to bite my tongue.

First of all: I've heard it a million times, I know it to be truth, yet hearing you say it this morning in regard to Christmas it really stuck with me: CHRIST IS ENOUGH FOR ME. Christ is enough when I feel my gifts to extended family aren't worthy because money is tight. Christ is enough when I don't do all the Christmas activities I wanted to with my kids. Christ is enough when I feel so much guilt over eating holiday treats. Sometimes I forget Jesus cares over all these "little" things that have my Mom heart aching. So thank you for repeating it to me. Secondly: you just look so pretty in this video! That's all.
