The twins were already criminals who would gladly kill or ruin anyone who got in their way. I'm surprised so many people were surprised Reed and Alex wiped them. What did people think they meant when they said they'd handle them? Reed made it pretty clear he'd have killed slider if the Blackwall link hadn't fried him first. They weren't going to leave any loose ends especially two who would jeopardize the mission if the woke up and made contact with Hansen or Barghast. We watch James Bond films where he nonchalantly kills and takes out criminals and rival spies without a hint of remorse. I mean Austin Powers doesn't even have qualms about it.
