Stable weather is sure nice for a change. Especially when its over 20 degrees out. Leech Lake has been consistently good in terms of a bite with a few of the bites getting better each week.
Walleyes try 15-20 feet with a jigging spoon tipped with a fathead head, but for sure take advantage of having a deadstick or tip up out because this time of year the fish start to get a bit less aggressive and a deadstick works great out a bit deeper. Huddles Reef has been where most reports are coming from, but structure similar will hold walleyes as well. If you are looking to get into Walker Bay, try a bit deeper to locate fish around that 28-36 feet of water.
Eelpout (Burbot) have been on fire this year. Many people are catching great numbers of burbot which makes for a great fight and a tasty meal.
Finally, we really want to highlight how much the perch have begun to bite. More reports of perch coming off of Huddles Reef, Sand Point, and areas in front of Horse Shoe have been great areas to target them in 12-18 feet of water.
This time of year, is always odd and with so many places to fish it can get hard to narrow it down, but for sure take advantage of a steady bite when it is going. With cold weather coming next week, this weekend will for sure be the weekend to get out fishing!
